Sehwag must open because he has the talent but he is out of form.

Get your acts together and quickly
by cheez_m on Sep 07, 2004 10:46 PM

What happens to these lads? Few successes in the circuit then huge crowd applause and then they get married and it all suddenly stops. Come out of the complecency and get your acts together, and quickly. No one in the team is irreplaceable, okay!

Sehwag feeling the pressure

Well, in times of a bad patch, I feel Sehwag can do better than taking a walk along Buckingham palace at 11:00 pm GMT with his family. I feel our players need to be more focussed. I was rather surprised to see Nehra, Laxman, Sehwag been allowed to stay out so long. Whats john doing about this?

You can't only rely on luck at this stage of the game
by AB on Sep 07, 2004 08:22 PM

Viru needs to work on his technique too. Yeah, I know that Viv Richards relied solely on his hand-eye coordination too, but Viru is no Viv and Viv did not have to face the best bowlers in the world at his time (these bowlers played for WI). If Viru can't find any problem with his batting, then I'm afraid he'll not find any ways to improve. He has to sit out a few games and recalibrate his batting. Same for Laxman if he continues to fail. Meanwhile, make Kaif permanent and allow Dinesh Kartik more opportunities to shine.

Sahwag feeling the pressure
by Nagendra Sharma on Sep 07, 2004 07:58 PM

The best way to bring back Sahwag's form is, sends him to bat at 6th or seventh down, when only runs are needed. He likes sparkling, let him do that, if he runs 40-50, it will increase his confidence and thats what he only needed

Spend some time at the crease
by Quaiyum Khan on Sep 07, 2004 07:49 PM

Sehwag is a very good player. At the moment he needs some confidence. There's nothing wrong with his technique. He should spend some time at the crease and then runs will automatically flow. Everytime on new ground you have to study the pace and bounce of the track. Then only you can start playing your shots.
I hope he'll perform very good in Champions Trophy.
All the best Sehwag!

Striking batsman dont play sometimes
by vishnu on Sep 07, 2004 05:27 PM

We need a striking batsman like Viru in our team. But sometime they dont perform in some series.Thats acceptable.(eg.jayasurya )

What abt the people who play defending game. They still dont perform continously(VVSlaxman, ganguly) comes under this category.Sometime(very rare) they give good performance(against zimbawe).then we brand him as a GOD.after that whether he plays or not play it doesn't matter. Pls dont brand anybody

If a player performs well in a series, he has to be promoted.(Say if kaif plays well ,promote him as a opening batsman)

Focus on your strength(eg: Viru consecutively bowls well in two series)(Past example: if a bowler like jayasurya can become top class batsman why cant viru cant become good bowler)
