Ganguly's batting
by tuli on Mar 26, 2005 08:49 PM

What the hell is wrong with u?where has all the confidence gone? are u the same man who scored 2 successive centuries on debut?are u the same man who scored 183 at Taunton,World Cup 1999?are u the same person for whom we all felt proud.U r going to be thrown out of the team.will it not hurt ur self respect?I know u r aware of all that I said.In case u lost ur confidence I can say that if u think there is still something left in u to offer the country then have faith in urself.I believe that u r among them who can do wonders with their willpower.U have done it earlier.u know it best. But if still dont think u r competent enough then take retirement before they throw u out.atleast u will be remembered with grace & not as a tragic hero who lost the final battle.I miss ur elegant strokes.Bring us the old days.Wish u good luck.

Indian Batting

Dear Gangully, If you know the reason that Indians not batting to their potential, then why these excuses. You don't forget that you yourself a batsman. I must say you are responsible for giving Dravid undue pressue for compelling to keep wicket and spoiled his batting powers. You may fear that he will overtake you, Is it so? No other team in the world is no unpredictable as India. When one fails everyone fails. But it does not happen when one clicks. In any match, you can see Indian partnerships once broken will loss both batsmen in a quick session. And all follow suite. Nobody showing the mentality to stay there. Finally, Indian players think that they can score the necessary runs by hitting boundaries and sixes all the time. But running between the wicket is too important. The clash between Gangully and Lakshman would make any kid laugh at. Lakshman is a poor fielder too. Kumble is only good to bowl at no fielding or batting. Keep them out and bring in youngsters. Good luck. Sewag has no footwork and he fails often reaching out with his bat to outgoing balls. So many other top batsmen do. Result is there to see.

Batting order
by Vinod.M on Sep 08, 2004 01:22 PM

Hi,

This is vinod from chennai.

the shuffle which saurav Ganguly has made is wright at this time. some one like Rohan Gavaskar or Dinesh Mongia will open the innings. VVS should be no.3. & shewag should be no.5.

Batting is still a concern

What ganguly himslef has done to improve his batting. He should be replaced as captain and be in the team only if he performs himself as a batsman first

MSR
Batting order must change for success to continue
by MSR on Sep 06, 2004 07:25 PM

Ganguly was good yesterday with his knock and has shown the way for others to follow. But as captain, he should not be rigid in changing batting positions or trying out a fresh face as in anycase we are awfully losing. He had the option to groom Dinesh Karthik in the last five matches and squandared a good oppty. This kind of behaviour only conforms rumours that the team is like a mafia controlled by the advertisers to keep the same eleven. Another thing that bothers is the coach contribution so far in building this team and how many more tournaments that we have to loss under this coach before we can replace him. If we need to move to the next level, we need a coach from Australia. Only they know how to fight in a cruch situation and call a spade a spade.

Think ahead .....
by murugan on Sep 06, 2004 06:58 PM

Dear Guyz, can we get ourselves satisfied by getting a medal long back .. obviously No , Similarly we don't want to think back and pat on our back on the failure of the Indian Team.

The statistics says that out of last 18 matches we lost 10 matches which is less than 50% of the matches played, hence we need to perform some action, now it is the time to look for a new Captain.

The lord of Lords has brought back the smile on our faces ! Thank you Saurav !

Congratulations to Saurav Ganguly and Team India. He has done it again with distinction. In the company of his trusted lieutenant Dravid where 20 others tried and struggled, Ganguly and Dravid won a great victory for India at the historic headquarters of world cricket. They chose the right place to demonstrate their cricketing abilities and the strength of their will power to stay at the crease where even home players trembled and departed before the wiles and fury of Bhajji, Anil, Veeru, Yuvi, Ashish and Irfan. We have full faith in our captain and his boys who in no time have shown to the knowledgeable crowd at Lords their tenacity and fighting qualities to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Our Indian cricketers have always reserved their best for display at Lords and with pride in our chests we remember the glorious exploits of Kapil Dev, Dilip Vengsarkar, Sunny, Sachin and ofcourse Saurav and Dravid when the two launched their illustrious careers here in the mid-nineties. It was a great and highly responsible innings played by Saurav and as captain his bowling changes and field placings showed the enormous maturity the Indian captain has reached as leader of Team India !

The fact of the matter is that India cannot only play at Lords. There are other grounds too.

Back Sehwag up
by Quaiyum Khan on Sep 06, 2004 04:35 PM

I think Laxman is not a good opener. He should bat at no. 3 or 4. Sehwag with Ganguly is still the best choice at the moment. Although Sehwag is not in good form but he can be very dangerous for the bowlers in first 15 overs. Kaif should play up in the order bcoz he gets some time to settle.

So called Expart
by Paritosh Chakraborty on Sep 06, 2004 03:51 PM  | Hide replies

Please for god Shake stop critisizing Indian team and Captain saurav Ganguly for poor performances in one or two tournaments . This team has beaten Australia in Australia & Pakistan in pakistan & they are the no.1 crowd puller in the cricket arena . The so called Cricketing Expart i.e K.Srikanth/B.Bedi should otherwise try to improve their commentating skill , which will help them to earn some money in these idle day of their reteirement.

I agree with you man. Ganguly has been a very fine captain and ppl like kris srikkanth/bedi being outside the game now take so much liberty to criticize him for some small failures. agreed india didn't play well in the Asia cup, Holland series and the Natwest trophy but what can ganguly do? after all, this is the same lineup which maraudered Pakistan in Pakistan and played Australia in their den with determination. Watch out!! Ganguly would bring home the ICC Trophy!
