India cricket is going no where. The politics seem to have no end irrespective of the performance. Ganguly seems to have learned other ways to keep his place in the side (not because of the performance) and may be he gives all the selectors a little share of his earnings!! What ever the reasons are, its not doing our cricket any good. The changes made are good except for one. Why is Agarkar out of the team, yet again?? Ganguly hates him. That could be the only reason. Even Tendulkar would'nt have been as successful player as he is now, had he had a captian as cruel as Ganguly. Just a nasty one. Why did the selectors not discuss the captiancy?? Selectors should make it very clear that performing is the only way to get into team, not Ganguly's favouratism. India is a country with millions of cricket fans and i am sure the people should start to make some influence by protesting against such a filthy atmosphere in the team.
Parthiv is not included in the Mumbai test is not fare. He has batted well in all three tests and he was the alone person who batted beter than our batsman in last three matches. Why the selection comitte is giving chances to batsmen 5 to 10 times when he is not playing well so why unjustice to Parthiv?
Alas!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally we have specialist opening pair in the Squad . But as usual we are too late .. as we have already lost the series. But i think VVS laxman's inclusion in the mumbai is surprising as he has scored Just 58 runs in his last 6 outings For India !!! even Irfan Pathan , Ajit Agarkar & Zaheer has scored more than this fellow, who seems to be caught in cement around his FEET.
Rest is ok . Ganguly has to be 100 % fit to play the next Test .
Finally the selection committee has done something good. Why Chopra was given such a raw deal is curious. He may not have clicked in this series but then nor has VVS Laxman but he stays. Chopra should have been persisted with and after Mumbai if he does not deliver, then axe him. Poor chap has got a real raw deal and what can one say about Parthiv and the glamour boy? Better late than never.
Saurav Ganguly is the main culprit who destabilised the solid Indian team by creating a dent in the confidence of the opening bat akaash chopra who has done a wonderful job over the past two years.Further his persistense with patel inspite of poor performances in pak and australian tours also is a major factor in our defeat.
Ganguly is no longer an automic choice in the team as a batsman. He has failed miserably as a captain this year due to over confidence and partisan atitude. He should be sacked immidiately and replaced by THE WALL
Test Matches, means the Players must be Technically perfect in all the Department, either Batting or Bowling or Wicket Keeping or Fielding.
But, I am surprised to see that our Indian Cricket Team players, while playing Test Matches have the hang over of One day matches in their mind. Sr. players like Laxman, Ganguly needs break from Cricket due to..........?
Captainship Crown on Sachin's head. Try Wicket keeping Glouse with Mahendra Dhoni, also a Good Batsman. Scored Two hundreds in recently concluded One day/Three day tournament at Nairobi.
Akash Chopra - Technically perfect Batsman, but lack of confidence, can be a future Sanjay Manjrekar.
Good luck to Indian Team for Fourth Test match at Mumbai, hope there is no Grass on the Pitch as similar to the Nagpur Cricket Ground, other wise Ganguly's Hip Injury will not be cured till the end of the 4th Test Match and will be seen in the Mumbai Ground carrying drinks for the Team mates.
alas ! realisation at last. The selectors have done the right thing by removing Patel, Chopra, Yuvraj & agarkar who wer non performers and who rose 2 the occasion 1nce in a bluemoon and had taken their place 4 granted. Addition 2 the list was needed ,viz, laxman .
Unlike in SA,ENG,and AUS where players including the established 1es need 2 prove their mettlein county circuit indian players especially the so called established players bank on the BCCI selection committe votes 2 retain their place in the indian cricket team.
Rather than axing just the 3 or 4 players, i think its time for the selectors to take a more drastic action. I think that the entire senior team should be disbanded and the India A team made to play in its place. The passion and the fire that is lacking in the current team is much more prominent in the India A team that went and performed creditably in Zimbabwe and Kenya. So when the selectors have decided that a change is required, why not a more drastic one?
