opening balance

Almost every critic is saying something on the same lines."Selectors not willing to ruffle feathers" is it? Dont be coy. Tell it as it is! Or are you also afraid of ruffling feathers? Do you think the selectors/captain don't understand what you say? They are not stupid. Then why is the right thing not being attempted?
Please don't tease. Come out in the open and say what you have to say!

tough decisions?? By BCCI??
by swat on Oct 25, 2004 07:56 PM

You must be kidding to expect indian team management to take tough decisions!!! If they were capable of taking tough decisions, yuvraj , parthiv would not have been in the team. Instead, gambhir/ramesh and dinesh karthik would have been in it.shewag would have sat out a match ( only 1!) when his form was pathetic. I can hardly recall the team ever taking a tough decision except after a player has gone a year without performance ( that is not called a tough decision is it??). Their decisions are based on potential not current performance....that is not always the best way to go!

cricket selection woes
by sulakshan on Oct 25, 2004 07:33 PM

sir,
this team plays for the bcci, and not for the country, as mr dalmiya so very well pointed out. so that being said, a private body cannot be asked to do what is good for the larger interest of national pride. its their "corporate", and "they" will decide whom to play and whom not to. india as a country shouldnt be figuring in this at all. infact, i have begun wondering why the official records suggest that INDIA played? india never played. it was, has been , will be the bcci who has played in the name of the country. get the records changed, or get the bcci accountable. only then can we have a team "selected -on - merit". i am still wondering after ALL THESE YEARS, why ganguly is still in the team? and wht was the basis vinod kambli was excluded. soo many things to be pointed out, so little fingers to point to them. SIGH.!!!

another frustrated-and-given-up-on-it-yet-still-hoping-for-a-miracle desi....
