Inida lost a golden opportunity

Good column by JL. Yes, the series has been good so far, except for the forgettable first innings by our batsmen in Bangalore. The Chennai clash was building up to a humdinger on day 5.

In Chennai, India left it for too late on the fourth day and paid for it when nature intervened. It was a fantastic start provided by Kumble on the first day. One cannot expect such a boon very often, specially against the world champs. Sehwag was superb, despite being not at his best.. he looked ominous in the short second innings. Now, its going to be very difficult to square the series since nagpur and Mumbai are generally dead pitches.

Yuvraj is unconvincing as an opener. Chopra should be back. Saurav has not been fair to him. Who will they drop when Sachin returns? It will most probably be Kaif and not Laxman..... unfair, isn't it? I guess one has to hope & pray that Laxman finds his devastating form soon. Sachin, if he plays, will be a question mark, after the long layoff. Rahul and Saurav have been disappointing. Funny that we call bowling our weak link... they have been the match winners, whenever we have won recently.

Patel is an enigma. He needs to play more doemstic games.

I've been reading JL's coloumns ever since we has been on the past India Tours . But this time around he seems to have the lost that something extra , that something inside news thing he used provide us perviously. But like any aussie always manages to find reason and occasion to praise fellow aussie. I don't know why he has left out rookie offispinner Harbhajan out of the dangerous players to watch out for the wizards of oz .I guess he forgot that out of 4 innings in 2 test matches Bhajji had him 3 times ( pathan had him for a beautiful yorker), short on memory JL?

The first test - Umpires won the test for Australia
Second test- Rain helped Australia to save test.
Third Test- Who?
You guys have plan for every batsman and bowler, and those plan become invisible when the time comes.
Let us see how you stop India now when Sachin is in whites.
