The way BCCI has gone about selecting the team for the third test against Australia, any well informed, unbiased cricket enthusiast will be of the opinion that BCCI is running a charity institution. A very, very, very generous charity institution indeed. Oherwise, why are V.V.S. Laxman, Yuvraj Singh and Parthiv Patel have been selected when they have not performed at all not in one, but many tests. Would these non-performers have been selected, if a BCCI official had to pay their match fees and other expenses from his pocket? All these players have performed very, very pathetically to say the least. They should have been laid off for a complete series and selected only on their performing positively in domestic cricket. Parthiv Patel's performance was not only pathetic, but embarrassing too and was witnessed by millions of viewers on the TV. If I was in Parthiv Patel's place, I would have felt terribly insulted and humiliated by my performances and what the commentators and other experts had to say about me and opted out of the series. However, the lure of big money is so great that cricketers have lost their sense of self respect and are ready to stoop to any levels.
Why the Indian selectors still keeping Lakshman in the team. He is only a `flower which blooms in Australlia", no where else. Chopra should be reinstated as opener.
Ganguli can open the innings since he was an opener for sometime.Let Lakshman play one down in that position he had done well in the past since ganguli is boasting about the past triumph.If lakshman does not do well in the nagpur test bring sriram for the 4th test.We want team india to win ,it does not matter even if jadhav can do well he should be tried. Other nations try new youngsters,only in india there is no scope for young talentedplayers.The change will come only ifwe indians stop seeing the matches.
Once Ganguli stated that Dinesh karthik has domestic experiences only ad he has to play and show his performance to be included .Yuvraj has not opened innings even in domestic cricket,how is he chosen for it ,that too for matches against australia. Why cant Jhadav or gambhir who have opened the innings play in place of yuvraj.We are selecting a team to represent a nation and it is not gangulis team.I think even for domestic cricket yuvraj will be selected as an opener,while ganguli states for nagpur test we have sehwag,chopra,yuvraj the three openers.It is funny he can consider yuvraj as an opener but cant consider ramesh as an opener.All politics and favoritism.
PARTHIV PATEL, when will Ganguly stop believing in past Laurels, this is costing Team India hteir Matches & alongwith it the Prestige and records. Given the current form PARTHIV should never be in the team (3rd test went into the 5th day just bcoz of his poor keeping).Also questionaable is the selection of Laxman & Yuvraj, who both are the favourites of Ganguly. Ganguly is my most favourite player but now my thoughts have changed. HE is no more the dynamic Captain of his earlier days. Dear GANGULY please wake up from the dreams & face the present dont just carry on with the past laurels for the sake of Team India & your Captaincy.
