It would have been different result.

If the rain does't interfere in this match, surely indian would have won this match. And by winning the mumbai match they would have levelled the series with australia. But the rain had gifted the series win to australia.

A Greddy captain -- Saurav
by Sachin on Oct 19, 2004 03:17 PM

Saurav should look at his personal performance rather than comenting on other players performance. If he is captian it doesnt mean he should be spared for his effortless and reckless batting , lazy fielding. He should be sacked and Rahul Dravid should be given the new role as captain. I dont understand why he bowls. he doesnt use his resources properly. He doesnt make bowling change at proper time. He doesnt consult with team members when needed. Infact he seems to be jealous of Sachin as he never gives him bowling. He should put India first instead of Personal priorities

Why not have a reserve day?
by Anurag on Oct 18, 2004 06:04 PM

What a waste of time, money, resources et al! What in the world stops the administrators from having a reserve day in case of a washout etc. No wonder its popularity has remained limited to 8-9 countries. No more watching Cricket for me!! Whew!! Lets watch Hockey, Football, Athletics..and maybe someone will win an Olympics Medal after that!!

In Chennai it never rains when you want it to, and always does when you don't.

Facilities..
by srinath on Oct 18, 2004 03:35 PM

Could the BCCI helped india's cause by doing the following..

1) Providing a tent like structure made of tarpaulin covering the whole ground so that whatever rainwater falls on it will be collected only beyond the boundary line fence & then into the gutter..

2) this has to be done immediately as soon as the rain is likely to be coming..

this will ensure that once the rain is gone match can start

but today whenever the rain stopped the groundsmen were mopping the water collected on the covers and whatsmore with a sponge and collecting water in buckets and mugs.. thank god they didn't use the small glasses used in Tamil nadu for serving filter coffee.

when will we invest in things that will raise our standards in front of the world.. we have one game that is like a religion to us can we present ourselves as leaders atleast in that sport..

is the BCCI listening ??

wish this had happened in Bangalore
by krishna rao on Oct 18, 2004 03:17 PM

Rain seems to have taken the australian side, bangalore which is known for so much rain, there was noen when indian was heading for a huge defeat, but when it came to chennai, where it hardly rains, and just when india did well, they have lost it.

228 is lucky for Australia
by K.R.Sriram on Oct 18, 2004 01:33 PM

Seems the score 228 is lucky for Australia.

1st test 1nd inning - Australia lead India by 228 runs
1st test 2nd inning - Australia scored 228 runs

2nd test,Australia's final lead was 228 runs(India was chasing 229 for victory).

Interesting trivia!!!
