Be a bit more mature
by sabari on Oct 14, 2004 12:56 PM

I think the critics have to be a bit more mature.Ofcourse they themselves are ex-players and they have been thro it.If u see the English commentators, they always back their players because the media reporters always go after the players.Since these guys were thro these things while playing, they support their player. One more notable point is that ponting(similar to sehwag) after given out LBW off Balaji in Amsterdam tri-series went straight to the umpire and chatted with him.The commentators and umpires took it casually.Had the same thing been done by Saurav, the whole world would have gone up against him.why this treatment.Indeed the commentators during the ponting incident were indians(i think it was LS and Maninder not sure). It is true that our commentators dig the graveyard for our own players. If u see in Sri Lanka,u got the most one-sidded commentators in the world like Ranjith Fernando,Arjuna etc. Please drop ur egoes ex-players and act maturely. They r players not machines.

Will Sourav be third time lukcy
by Sathvika on Oct 14, 2004 11:50 AM

Fortune only favours the brave. A captain who has preconceived notions about the players cannot simply ride on luck factor. Before even Dinesh Karthik was picked up for the one day squad and prove himself he had ruled that still Parthiv will keep wickets in the tests. Such is the bias of this great captain. May be he does not believe in the phrase "Horses for the courses" and goes only by his own whims and fancies. This is proved by the simple fact that in spite of Zaheer Khan's lack lustre performance at Bangalore he was still chosen ahead of Agarkar. The Australian front line has five left handed batsmen and still our skipper prefers two left handed seamers and one among them is a mediocre bowler be it one day or tests. His intentions were clear ahead of the match conditions as he had declared that if India is to play two seamers then the second choice will only be Zaheer to bowl with Irfan. I am not able to visualise the part played by the Coach and consultant as it gives a feeling that the captain has the final say in all respects. So it will only be myth to imagine that sourav will be lucky for the third time

will sourav be third time lucky
by vaibhav gangal on Oct 13, 2004 09:34 PM

hi ganguly done it almost 3 times as after being down 1-0 in australia recently he has drawn series. and don't say lucky because there was huge hard work done to achieve that. don't demolish their efforts by saying lucky.
