This supportive attitude of Ganguly for Yuvraj, Parthiv etc.. has led to the downfall of many players altogether.
Not only has it let down the confidence of Aakash Chopra after Ganguly first said that he would want to play Yuvraj as a opener, but it has also made Yuvraj more complacent in his attitude towards playing, as he is now more confident that he won't be dropped as Ganguly is backing him up, and he is unconcerned and gets out to stupid shots that a young kid would not play.
It has been so long since anyone has been dropped from the this current team for under-performance.
People argue that we do not have a bench-strength, how do we expect to have it, as we are not allowing other people to get a chance.
Looking at Australia, England, Pakistan and all the current top teams, you can see that their bench-strength is good and once they get a chance they don't let the oppurtunity go by.
If we lose this second test, and specially if Yuvraj dosen't perform even now, will the selectors have the guts to drop Yuvraj and sack Ganguly as captain.
I dont hope we lose, but will things change after all.
Selectors please select the players who are in form currently instead of the past performance. As days go, age and capacity decrease for some,keep in mind. Select 15 who are currently physically fit, no reservation for anyone.It is not justifiable. For the 3rd test consider Jhadav,sriram etc who did well against our frontline bowlers,try Dinesh karthik also in one of the matches. Even if we lose with new set of youngsters,they can improve ,think about the future team.Bring some new talented bowlers.Ganguly somewhere remarked dinesh has done well in domestic level and has to improve,if so from where he has entered to international level ,has he directly entered ?
Seeing whats Ganguly been doing in the middle lately he should be going 4th or 5th down. May be in support to Irfan. BTW, did I mention Sehwag should be removed from the team? He should go and start playing Ranjis and then come back if he deserves.
Try agarkar instead of Khan as he is not upto the mark.Let the selecors select the team for each test on the final day of the previous test match so that those who fared badly can be disqualified.The selectors have done a mistake in selecting ganguli as captain for the entire series.How much it will frustrate the deserving young talented cricketers who can have chances to prove themselves when the selection of phhysically unfit tendulkar is selected among 15.Tendulkar should have opted out giving a chance to a deserving young cricketer.Captain gangulishould take coaching in fielding batting and running between the wickets for keeping himself in the team.Theis is the mistake the selectors have committed.No out of form socalled great should not be selected by the selectors.Learn from australia.
The form of akash chopra in both the innings in the 1st test may be excluded and give a chance to kaif for his current form in the one day. Send yuvaraj in the opening position with shewag.
Ganguli should select agarkar instead of khan. Selectors should select the team for each test,newcomers should be given oppurtunity,nouse praising the past. Tendulkar can be left off,give chance to sriram ,dinesh karthik etc. If yuvraj plays this match and failed delete him. by including tendulkar in the team,who is really not fit chance to another player is deprived off. Selection of the team must be for the sake of the nation not for individul preference. Ganguli leave him from the captaincy,he can not paly captainsknock even once,so he has to support the others to keep his place in the team.
i am having this say on behalf of 12 freinds of mine in poona along when india is playing players like kaif; yurajsingh, and chopra and not to forget people like badani and dinesh mongia how do the selectors forget vinod kambli with 3 double centuries and consistent performnce at the nationallevel why a guy like him is out of the national team for so long all i got to say is one thing dont you think there is something fishy in the way about the selection takes place i feel for the poor guy and only hope that he will get his chane soon
India still have a chance to beat the mighty Aussies. All they need to do is get the right combination. There is no scope for any kind of favouratism. We have had enough of that by now and certainly its not doing us any good. If we play two seamers, Zaheer will play!!! What the hell was that. Ganguly thinks he almighty of India cricket??? if he does , he's wrong. Mr. Saurav, take these words for granted.... " Forget being a captian, your downfall as player is not far. this series could well be your last one as captian and from there on you know very well that you dont deserve a slot in 11, with out being a captian" The ideal cricket team for India is Yuvraj/Kaif,sehwag, Dravid, VVS Laxman(C),Sachin, Patel, Pathan, Agarkar, harbajan, Zaheer and Kumble.
