People who live in fool's paradise
by Madhumitha on Oct 08, 2004 12:09 PM

Such people like Uma who claim themselves as social workers live in fool's paradise. If anything prohibited by law is not to be shown in media, then what about rape and other such countless crimes which are unlawful, but shown, celebrated and glorified in the media. Was there anybody who sued all people who abetted and picturised such crimes in the movies...? To sue people who are popular on silly grounds has become a method to quickly rise up the ladder of attaining one's popularity. Such people like Uma only succeed in wasting the valuable time of judiciary, in a situation where thousands of cases are pending for verdict all over the country, and many thousands of lives are dependent on those pending cases. Before making all this fuss, people like Uma should first declare to the media what they did to improve the lot of thousands of children who are employed as labourers all over.

Kudos for taking up this issue!!!!!!!!!!
Keep it up.
These cricketers who are the current Indian idols should desist doing ads of this kind, and concentrate more on playing.

Waste of time!

It would be better if Ms. Uma and the Hon'ble HC spent their time in filling cases against the contractors who actually practice child labour. Targetting Sony, BCCI and our players for an advertisement is really ridiculous.
