how foolish Mr. Richards! Don't go by the reputations. The glory of the game is not in great stars, you don't get a great test because you open with Alan donald and Mc Grath. Its also about adapting to the situation and doing what is good for the team. You have no taste for cricket, just the stars.
It is not good for the Indian team to rule out young and extremely talented Irfan pathan. In the recent times he has proved to be a useful batsman too. It is absolutely rediculous to see Ganguly open the bowling in Tests.
I think barry richards is still sleeping or has not done his home work properly. Scoring rate of india was much faster than of south africa so it is south africn batsman who made this test draw. Regarding harbhajan, he was superb on all type of wickets and kanpur wicket also. Ganguly and dravid played as they felt better, They dont' need advice from barry. Opening of bowling by sourav was surprising but that why a captain on ground is required to imply strategy as he feels good. Other wise teams can have a non playing captain if things has to be othodox.Just dont comment on everyting for the sake of money.
He is quite right. Barry. However, it is noticeable that on the 2nd day of 1st test, Ganguly was the only seamer(dibbly dobbly) to take a wicket. If Barry wants to help the indians then he should elaborately tell us what are the weakness of the SA batsmen so that we can exploit them. What do u say ! BARRY. it just goes to show that how talented ganguly is. A captain , a batsman who is getting the runs, bowls seamers and handles baseless criticism coming from different quarters( Pony tail and Puny brained Kirti Azad)
Hi, I read this artivcle and was so surprised with lots of comments from Barry Richards. He keeps criticising Indian players a lot rather than looking at south african players. South Africa played the most horrible and most dull cricket that was ever seen. They didnt bowl well and were hit all over the park. Will Barry Richards answer to those questions..? The captain was clueless for half the time. THere are so many problems with South African teeam. These should be addressed by Barry Richards before he starts talking abt indian cricket.
We definitely need a good seamer...and we need to think out of the box. Why not take a look at Harvinder Singh. He is not pacy..buthas a good repositoire and has an uncanny knack of taking wickets.
Also we should not make a sentimental judgement that we have solved our opening woes and found Gautham Gambhir. Even S.Ramesh and SS. Das have done well under many conditions..except the Australian ones..but now find themselves out.
We should also probably look at things differently. Why not look at Parthiv Patel as an opener and not a wicket keeper. He has excelled as a batsman against the likes of McGrath, Shoiab Akthar in their own countries.
