according to me the senior players should quit as they are not doing good for the game & un necessary occupying the place & not giving berth to the youngster who are good.

Ganguly's Offence
by Debmalya Mukherjee on Nov 19, 2004 12:03 AM

How can the author of the article say that Ganguly is guilty of such an offence for the second time within a year? The word guilty means "already convicted". Ganguly's case has not been heard yet! when we see such things appearing again and again, we ought to believe that this is a deliberate mistake done by the author. We expect for analytical and more responsible writings. Ganguly's only offence is that he is a man with a erect spinal cord and he could be easily misinterpreted and misreprented by filthy writings.

bias continues

What is new. Clive Lloyd shows his color again. Wake up INDIA. You have to stand and fight against the bias Umpires have shown against India. Can anyone explain why white countries get away with everything and nonwhite countries dont. Now you can say Clive Lloyd is not white. But you tell me, who controls his job. Further quite a few westindians hates Indian because people of Indian origin dominate economy in West Indian Islands. Further experiencing blacks I have noticed that they hate asians no mater what origin they are off.

Clive Lloyed and his verdict aginst Ganguli
by Dr. Swayambhu Mukerjee on Nov 18, 2004 11:16 PM

Laws are made to preserve the spirit of a game. The ICC rule was made primarily to save the game from unsporting gamesmanship preventing spectators from their due entertainment. A person who can read a rule book but cannot interpret the meaning should not be made a judge, as his judgement is bound to be some thing that Mr. Clive Loyed has done! More than 100 thousand spectators were present, including international cricket stars of past. No one felt that the game was intentionally delayed spoiling the thrill and tension, yet the ICC Match Referee Mr Clive Lloyd came up with the most ridiculous judgement of fouling the rule book! More surprising is the avoiding attitude of many of the senior players and officials, trying to save their skin by ambiguous and vague statements of neither here nor there. Few known to be totally anti Sourav from the beginning are expectedly very happy of course.
No person is greater than the game itself. Similarly laws without proper interpretation have no power of their own. We all are waiting for the final verdict to see if few mundane words, separated from the context and proper interpretation, can supersede the spirit of the game or not!
