frenz, It's not one day the aussies got the no:1 position They earned it by teamwork. There is nuthing to criticise about them.it's a matter of their will-power.steve was the captain of that no:1 team.so he has every right to say that
He is being so diplomatic. Maybe because he is in India on a promotional tour and wants to avoid controversies. But the underline says that he does not consider any other teams even close to Australia. Team India it's high time to show the aussies that what goes up comes down.
frankly .i think this number one test playing status of australia seems to be a bit exaggerated. seriously its goos to harp on the 17 wins in a row kind of facts BUT take a closer look atleast three of those test matched would have been lost by astralia had the umpiring been fair.
the only time any team put some heat back on australia was by india in 2001 and we all know how they fared in that.again look at the head to head test matches record of india and australia in the last ten years then we will all know who was better.
some of their leadin lights have been pathetci failures in india - shane warne has given runs by the hundreds every time he tours ,ricky ponting has made 16 runs in six last innings on indian soil, greatness anyone?
true australia is consistent BUT number one teams win always ,everywhere - atleast when it comes to test matches ,against india -australian track record has been anything but good.
