Remarks on Irfan Pathan
by rajorshi kumar on Mar 29, 2004 07:48 PM

Kudos Irfan, you have answered your critics with iron fists.
Only you need to aim for the best in the world(Wasim Akram as left handed pacer). You should improve your pace a bit and should use the in-swinging yorker more consistently.

Good but....
by Surjith on Mar 29, 2004 03:08 PM

Pathan is a good bowler he is having that instinct. But he has to improve his econ rate to become an acclaimed bowler.Fig of 10-0-30-1 is better than 10-1-70-3 in ODI point of view.Further as he is young and well built he can try to bowl more faster which will create a fear among batsmens mind..Anyhow it is of no doubt that he is better than Ashish nehra and Balaji..in terms of bowling and allround abilities..

Good luck pathan...

PATHAN ''WASIM AKRAM''
by Wajed on Mar 26, 2004 09:11 PM

Hi rediff,
I think Pathan is the best bowler & even he is best batsman plus best fielder, he is a very good all rounder for India,& he is just 19 year old young boy,i think his future is very bright & we got a wasim akram in our team.

Indian lower order
by Prashant on Mar 26, 2004 09:51 AM  | Hide replies

Balaji,Pathan and Powar ended the series with some useful runs and a scoring rate of over 100 ! At least two of them will play in Tests against Pakistan. In the recent past, we have seen Indian lowerorder making a mockery of the efforts of top order batsmen. Hopefully this is not the case anymore. Pakistanis will find it very hard to contain this Indian batting line-up.

It is true that India's lower order seems to have come of age when it comes to wielding the bat. That this is not a flash in the pan was made clear by Balaji's consisitent hard-hitting which made a mockery of Shoaib and co, and taught the Indian middle order the valuable lesson that all can be well as now the 'endzz' well. The day of 'Top failures' deciding matches against India's favor can now belong to the bygone past !!! At least for the time being we hope.
