Therun outs of his partner at the other end and his declaration when Sachin was at the score of 194 worry me about his temperament with regard to other cricketeers.

its time to think of including Badani
by S.Madhusudhanan on Mar 23, 2004 12:33 PM

It was Dravids patience and guidance that helped us win the fourth match. Kaif made his selection ahead of Badani, as a good move. But its time to include Badani in the team as a replacement for Laxman.

Fourth One dayer

What is that in Mr. Dravid that seems to make everyone so nervous? Cricketing world has appreciated this sportsman for his ability, technique & his determination. Off field too, he is known for judgement. Indians should use his temperment. The upcoming team should take him for a role model. Even in life, his techinque is to be used i.e. not just to be aggressive but to be pile on with minimum to maximum, determination and rock like patience.

Best of Luck to the Indian team for the matches. Congrats for the win.

The Great Wall of India , The Rock & The Dependable
by nithu on Mar 23, 2004 11:08 AM

When the great wall of india came on to bat like the Rock at the situation when the whole Indians where depended on the dependable the runs where poured like a jammy on the bread with the help of knife i.e Kaif on the other end in the pavilion the bengal tiger, master blaster, viru and yuva had to just applaud to these two great batsman. The men in green where defended by the Rock at the right time where the rawalpindi express had to just throw the ball and forget to put bouncers and yorker to this Rock.I will suggest that Indian team is doing a great team Work and i hope to continue the same ever. ALL THE BEST, WISH U GOOD LUCK

The magic of Rahul&Kaif at Lahour
by swaminath on Mar 23, 2004 10:03 AM

It was really a brilliant innings played by Rahul and Kaif at gaddaffi stadium. The Indian batting was more or less limping. Those watching the match more or less were thinking of the game in favour of Pakistan. This was the moment when Rahul took the charge of batting. Accompanied by Yuvraj he put some life to limpnig indian team.It was great cricket by Rahul and Kaif there who have presented a mesmerized performance. This type of performance will never disappoint the Indian cricket lovers.Best wishes to Saurabh who along with his team mates is putting hard untiring effort to win the cricket match and the heart of Pakistani awam. This will certainly improve the lost glory of the past in this part of the world.

Dravid's knock
by KSM SUNDARAM on Mar 23, 2004 09:28 AM  | Hide replies

On current form - Rahul Dravid is THE BEST BATSMAN in the world (or at least THE BEST INDIAN BATSMAN).

Sorry Sachin you have forfeited the right to that title. A great batsman is not one who scores truckloads of runs, a great batsman is one who scores those truckloads of runs at the right time, when the team is in a crisis.

Although its unfair on Dravid's immeasurable talent, I would compare him partly with a vastly underrated former west indian batsman called Larry Gomes. In that team of prima donna batsmen, Gomes' centuries and big scores always came in crucial times when the other batsmen failed.

It was good to see Kaif come back to his normal cool batting. Its unfortunate that he has been kicked out of the test team after this vital knock.

It is funny that Srinath is talking about players who preferred the comfort of the dressing room and did not want to go and expose themselves. Srinath has done a Phd in this area. Even if he had a small cut on his finger he would refuse to go out to bat or bowl.

i fully agree that the impact of the one day series will be at the back of the mind of the players so winnig the one day series is very important for the indian team.I wish Sourav and his boys the very best of luck.Well being an indian not to worried about the world class batting line up but bowling has to be up to the mark.

Srinath.. you are right!, Dravid's the man.. he has proven himself over the ages and I believe he should deserved to win the Man of the Match Award... instead of Inzi.. but its all good.. at the end of the day India won the game..
All I hope now we win the final.. and then go on to win the Test Series with a 3 - 0 margin..
