lakshman in one day squad
by steven on Jun 29, 2005 11:02 PM

i totally agree to rashid latif, india should not include not only lakshman, but few others. there is a senior players group which do not want good players to show their talent as their place will be under serious trouble. if india wants to be on top there should be two good all rounders in the side. otherwise time will tell when even the latest crop of young talented bangladeshi players will give indian team a lesson.

Laxman should play in One Days as Opener
by D Dasaradha Ramaiah on Jun 29, 2005 10:24 AM

He is our Gilchrist. If he is tried at Opening
level and stands till the end of the game (of
course he is having that perseverance and skill)
Tendu or Shewag or whoever it may be can play their
natural game of hitting, which runs the score board.

He may fail in 1 or 2 matches, but he should be
tried and made him to stay till end of the game.

If this can be done, I do not think even a single
game India will lose.

Wish you best of luck LAXMAN.

VVS

Off course VVS should play in the one dayers it would be stupid not to include him! He is a fine test player...but that does not mean that he is a rubbish one dayer! The same things were said about Rahul Dravid a few years ago which proved to be ridiculous....the fact that players can play should good cricket in tests is an advantage and does not mean that they cannot play a fast game - they are professionals and train for these kinds of things!! VVS is one of the best players ever and he is a true credit to our batting line up!

Mr.Latif u got the answer! It was very very special fitting answer by Laxman to his critics.Look what a fantastic 107 in just 104 balls and superb win to India.

There was a Red Alert on the screen yesterday.
by chanakya on Mar 22, 2004 03:24 PM

It just said "Red Alert" and displayed Laxman's poor performance.

It is now upto the right people to decide whether or not to let him participate in the last ODI.

There must be some parameters by which the so called right people make the decisions.

Yesterday he was bowled in the same fashion as he was in Peshwar.

This means he is slow to learn !!!

Or does he prefer to become "out" in his own specific and preferred way ?

And this is not funny. The 5th one will give an edge to the winners.

Similarly !! Tendulkar always got out by sohib's ball so why don't we consider Tendulkar is not fit for indian Team?

Laxman Should Play when he is fit
by Vikrant on Mar 22, 2004 12:41 PM

I Think we should ignore to the rubbish talking of rshid latif. Now if we compare rashid and Laxman one can say laxman is a better option than rashid for his batting intelligence. His timing is good and he middeled the ball very well. But i think he needs to take rest a while.Indian team's cricket schedule is always busy throughout the year from last four years. And people get exhausted because of that.
i think now laxman should take a rest for last oneday match and he should look forward to test series against pakistan.
