Ramiz Raja is very mean and short sighted in his article "Blame it on Inzamam". One can't blame Captain alone for the loss. Its a team effort. Inzi led from front and took his team to respectable position. Though India comparatively have weak bowling attack, Ramiz should know that Paki too are not that good a chaser of the game. His immaturity is seen when he blames the paki captain and Its hard for him to believe Sehwag as a thinking cricketer because of his baised mind. He should take some lessons from his home crowd and should start supporting the game on the whole and not just comcentrate on a win or loose. Grow up Ramiz Raja ... Its high time !!
Dear Sir, After a wonderful weekend for all the indians still sinking after their wonderful victory against their arch-rivals.the way the two teams played in the highly charged up game was enough to convince the fans all over the world "THE BEST IS YET TO COME" and no series can be compared to INDIA-PAKISTAN cos it generates so much of passion all over the world. Having said this,KUDOS to Pakistan team for thier wonferful chase which almost got them through. Inzamam was fantastic and Yousuf was great when their bats started doing the talking, but it was unfortunate that they couldnt pull this off and Inzi heriocs went in vain.Blaming Inzi for the debacle makes no sense to me since the captain is the right person who knows the strenghts and weakness of his team.his decision to Bowl first was a right choice but their bowlers just couldnt bowl straight and squandered their chances of going 1 up in the series and moreover the Captain is the one who has to deliver on the field.Instead of ruing the decision of INZI some comforting words from all the quarters would hv soothed the captain to no extent and also for a better performance in the rest of the series.GOOD LUCK INZI
Ramiz Bhai! I don't agree with ur opinion.. Plz refresh ur memory.. In the previous column, even you said that "Karachi will be tough on the bowlers". It indeed was..Had there been no extra runs, Pakistan would have won the match.. The best bowler Shoaib Akhtar & Co were not able to get Indians out in the moist conditions..Do u think if India batted second..they could have got them out... Its the bowlers who were at fault..INZY led from the front..& showed how strong the so-called weak-batting line-up is..Magnificent display.. Had there been fewer extras or Moin did another Miandad act,Pakistan wud have won..What would have you said then? Had I were to lead Pakistan..after reading ur article..I certainly would have opted for bowling so as to make most of the moist conditions. After seeing this performance..it must have sent thunder messages in the Indian camp..even though they came out victorious.. Its not good to make Inzy the scapegoat. One can suspect Inzy's brilliance..but not "Miandad's.It must be a collective decision..
Moreover..could you please suggest Inzy for the second match...whether to bat first or to bat second..
May be on a batting belter, it was a fault to put India in, but then on a tougher batting wicket at Centurion in World Cup, India successfully chased 275 runs to beat Pak. Inzy is a class act as a batsman and arguably the world's numero uno matchwinning batsman. He is a new captain and shold be allowed to settle down in that role.
Dear Ramiz Raza Your observations are quite accurate. However my feeling is that match was won by Karachi crowd in particular and Pakistan's awam in general. Had the environment being different both the teams would have difficulty in putting up such a match. You are right in saying that more games between the two will improve the performance of both tremendously.
I dont think Inzamam is wrong in choosing to bat second on this wicket. It is absolutely true that his express bowlers were off the target and wayward in their line which ultimately cost them the match. Minus the number of extras given by their bowlers in form of noballs and wides and see the remaining score.
