lets keep the bonhomie rhetoric down
by siva on Mar 15, 2004 09:59 PM

Its a favorite topic of anyone to talk about how similar they find our subcontinental neighbours whenever they visit them. That cliche seems to be back in action with Faisal here !

To me, all the talk about the sameness of Indians and Pakistanis is an impractical optimism ( as they proved it 57 years ago). Lets agree forever that we are different, and will remain different from each other.

May be its because of the politicians, or maybe its their history books, but let us not waste one more 'Hindi-Chini Bhai-Bhai' type trust on them.

I am very happily surprised to read this article, I am in North America.
Feeling really very happy to see two brothers (India and Pakistan) join together.

Full Marks to Karachi-Spectators
by Mandar Wadhavekar on Mar 15, 2004 09:34 PM

I watched match on TV, I was amazed to see the sportsman spirit of Karachi spectators. Frankly speaking I did not expect it at all. I hope this is start of good relationship beetween two countries. We Indians should realize that there can be difference between thinking of Pakistani common people and Pakistani Government.

Cheers to both the teams.

The match between india and pakistan was spectacular but more impressive was the crowd sititng beyond fences. pakistan team may have lost match by narrow margin but pakistani crowd...they are the real winner....on saturday, they proved to be far ahead of we indians as far as discipline and sportsman spirit is concerned...i think our crowd should learn some lesson.

Pakisthani crowd far better than Australian
by Raju on Mar 15, 2004 08:35 PM

I Believe Pakistani people are very good hosts. They have sporting spirit. Just remember how the Australian crowd made racist comments when their team is doing bad. I am bowled by the way the crowd behaved in Karachi.

Karachi Crowds etc
by C D Pereira on Mar 15, 2004 08:31 PM

Being bowled over when the match is nearly 50/50 is OK. Wait till the whole series is over, followed by the India-Pak talks. Once again they would revert to the old rhetoric of J&K being core issue etc etc.And if J&K does become just another issue to be sorted out based on its merits& historic perspective in mind then can we trust.Let us not be carried away yet.

What a wonderful thing! Only, it does not translate in peace with our neighbour - why don't you have Gen Musharraf and those of his kind in the Paki Army sit with some of these Pakistanis so that they stop exporting terrorists to India.

Dear All

The hatred developed between us needs to be blown off. Nothing can be achieved with fighting each other. I hope no more stoppages of cricket matches will be there. We will have regular matches and many more such experiences as expressed by either side. Hope this is the best platform to bring us together.

Regards
