''Please help others become better''

Hello:

This response is to the article "Tendulkar is the best ever" by Mr. Hanif Mohd. I totally agree with Mr. Mohd's views and I love the way Tendulkar plays the game with passion. The only problem I see is with his approach on the field towards the youngsters when they make some mistakes. I agree that there are few players who field badly and make a few mistakes and at that time they get mauled by him. Nobody likes to hear abuses or thrashing from a senior, no matter who he is, when the game is televised to the entire world. This attitude will only demoralise the younger players in the pressure situations and they are prone to make more mistakes. I feel a better solution in this situation is for Tendulkar to be more vocal as in supporting the players and say words which give them confidence. You never know what a few words of support can do for a youngster, and I am sure they can lift their game to greater standards. I personally feel that Tendulkar has achieved all possible individual milestones in his cricket career and if he can inspire the youngsters on the field and help them become better cricketers, the Indian cricket "team" will become Champions of World cricket soon.

by anand agnihotri on Mar 15, 2004 10:36 AM

As a young boy I saw( heard commentries only) Sri Haneef Mohamad playing test in India. He was a perfect batsman that time and his this writing has proved that he is a perfect judge.A cool head and big heart he has is rare in the cricketing world.I wish some more crickter of his thinking may born to elevate the status of the cricket further.

Yes..Absolutely.!

We Indians are very proud of Sachin.. ! Statistics tell very little about his genius. You must only watch him playing..! The cricket world may not find another Sachin for atleast a century.! India may never get another Sachin..! We are really proud of him..!

hanif mohd on sachin
by vs murty on Mar 15, 2004 08:40 AM

hanif mohd taking us down memory lane is very heart-warming. and what is ironical is that his world record going unnoticed until brian lara was abt to surpass it. one appreciates that specialists in whichever area they are, they enjoy what they are doing, but to be ignored or forgotten into archives until something latest happens, is really difficult to digest! may god give hanif mohd more opportunities to share his thoughts. vs murty, hyd, india

Great himself

Hanif you are a great sportsman, therefore you are
humble and see greatness in others. We, your contemporary, never forgot you and your record. I was 17 when you came to India under Fazal Mahmood leadership. We still remember you and Ramakant Desai.
Pakistan did had some good batsmen after you but still Hanif's name come first when we talk about cricket
