Is there any surprise in this news of Brett Lee pulling out of Lanka tour?
He has made a habit of opting out of subcontinent's tours. He did not come to India in last full tour in which Bhajji and VVS Laxman single handedly defeated Australia. Then he missed out the TVS Cup recently. And now he has got himself injured and ran back to Australia.
Brett Lee might be considered one of the best and greatest one in Australia, but until he proves himself in all the type of conditions, at least Indians and Pakistanis can not consider him great. Australians do not consider any person great until he performs in their country. Why don't they apply the same rule to overseas tours done by Australia. In my opinion, other bowlers such as Srinath, Shohaib Akhtar and Vaas are far greater bowlers who have taken wickets on the lifeless wickets of subcontinent and they have also proved themselves in unfamiliar conditins of Australia, South Africa, New Zealand and England.
