i think kaif is good batsman. what if he din't played good in previous games. but he is good in batsman and excellent feilder. i think he shud be in team and he is we already won tests and odis. but i am sad that mr. wadekar mr.borde and mr. malhotra din't took his name. he is good infact excellent. don't u think so?.
Reading this selection process made me feel that we, the people, are better selectors.
First of all, why is Kaif left out in the one day team??? He is one of the best fielders for India.. They said let him first play in local matches????
My suggestion is let Parthiv play in the local matches..Get a better and adjustable wicket keeper and bring Kaif in..
I have a feeling that we ourselves have better selecting capabilities. They are skilful people who know cricket but they act like as if they are talking of selecting a team for a school match.
I am sure ( if this is how really the cricket board selects ) that they select much more sensibly even in Canada.
hai I just want sadagopan ramesh and akash chopra can open the bating for india. since ramesh performed well in his first matches against pakistan and akash chopra too done well in australia tour. bye thankoyu
This discussion highlights the ridiculous ways of our selectors. I totally disagree with the selection of Parthiv Patel. In view of his bad performances and his age, he should be sent back to national level first class cricket to strenghthen his skills. I feel the selectors should have complete statistics of all the top players in the Ranji league and then plan selection solely based on merit and not past performances.
well one day team requires all rounders in the form of a kapil,imran,cairns, razzaq,robin singh ( all medium pace all rounders ) & not spinner all rounders like we have. sehwag,tendulkar,kaif,yuvraj,badani. players who can bat & bowl equally. agarkar& bangar r close to that. another 2 boyz j p yadav & singh jr ( sadar ) indian pace bowlers needs experience to play & get more exposed. a fixed wicket keeper like ajay ratra for both forms of the game. we lack a genuine 5th bowler. we always hv a power packed batting line up which goes to show hey bowlers bowl anyhow & we shall make the runs. if we dont then u guyz ( bowlers ) take the blame for lack of experience. if a batsman like sachin who is out of form & is treated like god to the nation lets give a chance to more young & better talented players & let sachin get more endorsements & ads so that he can make his money as usual. my one day team for pak tour wud hv been - ganguly,sachin,sehwag,laxman,dravid,gavaskar,kaif,yuvraj,karthik,powar,agarkar,bangar,zaheer,irfam,balaji & bandari with ratra as reserve keeper well this is my view
I have not heard a single statistic being mentioned.... The team selection was completely based on the knowledge of a third party individual like a normal television viewer... There was not a single thing discussed about pitches, conditions, requirements of the captain and the coach and ofcourse balance..
It is ridiculous to say the least..I guess we used to select the team better during chai breaks !!!
