Sehwag doesn't want Yuvy as opener. Dravid doesn't want to keep in ODIs. And they all go to the press! What is this? A cricket team or a vegetable market? Let the captain of this winning team get on with his job!!!

Dravid donning gloves.
by Prakash on Jun 20, 2004 01:01 PM

The presence of Parthiv Patel is one of the most unfortunate happenings in Indian cricket. In last few years, there have been a dozen+ fast bowlers, and dozen+ openers. Strangely enough, the selection committee has not looked at any other wicketkeeper who is 20 something.

Is it possibly because Parthiv Patel has strong financial backing? Is it because Kiran Moray, the West Zone representative on the selection committee is so convinced about the honesty, integrity, (He complained about Abhijit Kale, so presumably he is one of the cleanest selectors in the committee) and the merit of this Gujarat Wicketkeepr that he doesn't need to look any further?

Parthiv Patel
by Capt Mohit Kapoor on Jun 20, 2004 07:36 AM

Parthiv Patel should go & play Ranji level cricket for two years. Kirmani should stop propping up his invention immediately.

What India needs is a good wicket keeper batsman & surely there will be more than one in the country. We have just stopped looking.

Parthiv will get his chance - for the time being though give chance to people who deserve.

should he be given a choice
by Advit Sahdev on Jun 20, 2004 03:06 AM

agree that he has been the strongest pillar india has ever produced, but still should he be given a choice? can he be excused just for the sake that he can score a 40 odd every match? why lower the expectations when one can do a job pretty well.. i dont get it.. dravid should still keep for india, like it or not but thats what the team wants from him.

i am seconding what dravid says and feels about wicketkeeping. he has a job that not many can do with such guts n glory. he needs to be relieved of wicketkeeping duties and the board just has to find the right replacement. there are scores of potential probables waiting to just get the nod. the board needs to think out of the box than consistently resort to stop gap arrangements. Dravid has been a true gentleman and a warrior to always take up any challenge thrown at him but its time we respect him more and allow him to cement his place in cricket history as one of the most technically sound batsman the game has ever seen.

dravid..
by Bharat Pandya. on Jun 20, 2004 12:52 AM

poor chap..his leniancy in the begining is being exploided.he should have said no first time only..but then his wk. does help.so now whether he likes it or not he has to continue. this is a vicious circle.beacuse of him parthiv does not get chance - because parthiv does not get chance dravid has to continue.at preent both are equally good or bad...then there is a myth about winning combination..so my dear dravid whether you like it or not you have to do the job.

by ashish kumar on Jun 20, 2004 12:48 AM

Dear Daravid,
it is really tough for u to take gloves in one dayers but believe me u r doing a great job and India ows you most of its recent success. India looks more strong and flexible when u take the gloves. so, Mr. dependeble do it for us as long as possible.

What a camp?
by Kannan Sankaran on Jun 20, 2004 12:05 AM

Is this a sign of the team disintegrating? Every day after the camp, one guy or the other comes up with a contraversial press conference. Somebody has to tell these guys to keep their mouth shut and concentrate on the game...
