To reduce the weight of bat to get away from the strain
by kmvbhushan on Jun 20, 2004 09:53 PM

Considering the age and also to avoid the feeling of strain , he should reduce the weight of the bat, so that he can perform as like his youger years as an Opener in One dayers.

Please Please step down...Sachin

Sachin needs to step down. His presence means we have to gamble with Yuvi's career.Yuvi is incredibly talented and the future.Sachin is the past. Also Aakash is shaken for no fault of his . What did Sachin do at Lahore? Sachin CANNOT PLAY ON DICEY PITCHES (IN TESTS..).Whether it is Hamilton or Bridgetown or Lahore or port Eliz, he cannot score on lively pitches(read green..).And the selectors are chicken 'cause they cant justify dropping a guy with 9500 runs & 33 100's. But where have those runs come?(IN India he's done very well).Rahul Dravid has made all the difference and now Sachin does'nt deserve to be in the test team. Please let Yuvi play in the mid-order.He'll do roaringly well like at Lahore.Take a leaf out of OZ land where the Waugh brothers and Taylor were given the shift and now a giant like MCGRATH has been warned!!!

Hey Hemant,

Better u check out profile of sachin available at www.cricinfo.com . You will soon find out that he has scored so many hundreds outside india (on ur so called lively pitches) as well.

So better u think thrice before making such rubish comments okay ? So, better u keep ur mouth shut.

Here's another case of brain dead fans, just mouthing off without knowing what Tendulkar contributes to the team. I bet you have not played the game nor do not know anything about cricket. Sheesh, such comments should not warrant inclusion here.

Sachin should get adequate rest and should enjoy the game that has brough him a lot of honour. Its time he does something for himself. Lifting the load of the hopes of an entire nation for 15 years is too much. Give him a break yaar.

Make Efficient Use of Tendulkar
by Mukund on Jun 19, 2004 01:49 PM

Indian Cricket has to make efficient use of one of the best players in this era Sachin Tendulkar. Like a race horse, cricket players should be managed with care. The top players should not be playing every series and should be allowed rest and recuperation. Point in case, is series against 2nd tier opponents like Kenya and Bangladesh. This is a tested strategy used by Managers and Coaches of most professional teams, like in the NBA or NFL or the European League of Soccer. However the BCCI is trying hard to kill the golden goose. Hopefully this will be rectified by a better management of the BCCI.

sachin still special
by srinivs tanniru on Jun 19, 2004 11:18 AM

sachin tendulkar is still the first target for any opposition. given a situation where the opposition has chance to run one of the two batsmen i.e., sachin and any other( sehwag, saurav, dravid, laxman or yuvraj) out, the oppositin would certainly go for sachin. he is most important player in Indian side. we are not yet prepared to see an Indian team with no tendulkar and i am sure he himself knows that very well. let us all pray for his fitness and widh that he goes on and on.

Tendulkar article
by Sunil Anand on Jun 19, 2004 03:39 AM

I wonder which journalist asked Tendulkar if his role is being diminished. It shows how much taht journalist knows about sports in general and cricket in particular. He/she probably covered a political event the previous day and got assigned to the Indian cricket team's camp the next day. It is the typical Indian trait of adoring a Star for a long time and when they age a bit their presence in the team is questioned. Why can't everyone accept the fact that cricket is a team sport and every one contributes. And sometimes one of them, even if he is the second greatest batsman the game has seen, he is bound to have a bad day. I just hope that the question was not raised by a Rediff.com staffer, I am sure it was not, you guys know the game.
