i think this will help india to score runs at very good run rate.now a days india's average runrate is 3.75.we have to increase it to 4.5.this will lead india to a greater position as australia.

Yes, YUVI must be given a chance.

Yuvi has always shown the caliber and the talent at the highest level and that too in very critical situations. And I beleieve he ready to accept and prepared for every challenge given to him.
Why to always bang on the old traditions of having serious/slow/consistent/longlasting/technical etc. openers like Gavaskar/Chauhan/Chopra/Das, do'nt you think the aggresive openers like Shrikant, Sachin, Viru did well for the Indian cricket?....

So let Yuvi also have this oppurtunity...

Bye

Yuvraj No. 1?
by Manoj Nambiar on Jun 14, 2004 09:05 PM

Why Yuvraj, (almost) anyone could open the innings - all it takes is the guts to a) face a shining red ball, and b) face a shining surface that no ball has ever tread before (at least not in that match!)

Agree with Saurav that Yuvraj has the ability, if that is what he meant by pushing him as the first choice for the first slot. Given his (Saurav's) experience and patience, this could be yet another gamble that might pay of for him and Team India.

Cheers.
