chuckers galore!

Muralitharan can say what he wants. But the fact remains that he is a blatant chucker. It's a shame that he has been allowed to play in international cricket for so many years. It is no surprise that he has the most wickets in both one day and test cricket. Twenty five years ago bowlers like Murali, Shoaib Akthar, Brett Lee, Harbhajan and a few others would not have been allowed to play more than a couple of test matches. They would have been banned for life. Today one can chuck his heart out and still get away inspite of being labelled a chucker over and over again. Muralitharan ought to be ashamed of himself for getting preferential treatment inspite of his illegal action.

In support of Mr. Murali Rao and a host of other Rediff Readers I have this to say: Muthiah Muralidharan's job is to bowl when his captain gives him the chance. It is the Umpires standing in who will decide whether the ball is a 'legal' delivery. Be it a 'doosra' or a 'theesra' if it is called a "No Ball" that is the end of it. The Prime Minister of Australia had no better job than to have his two cents thrown in. Sri Lankan PM was threatening to sue ICC! Was asking for support from India. Why couldn't these PMs become Cricket Umpires to replace the likes of Dicky Bird, Venki etc.

Was the declaration right?

I think the media is making the issue complicated by saying his doosra is illegal.it seems absolutely absurd that the world's highest wicket- taker is a chucker.if the ICC has any doubts over his action they should have banned him much before.i perosnally think that other bowlers like Brett Lee, Akhtar, SHabir Ahmed .kyle Mills
bowl illegal deliveries.
