The team selection needs some realistic approach. By nnot taking in a reserve batsman they are forced to play an underaveraged player like Parthiv Patel. For those who are aghast at my remarks abot Parthiv Patel, I would ask them to recollect how he scored the 60 odd runs against Pakistan by nearly lose his manhood. Parthiv Patel got hit in his GROIN several times during that innings,it was a mockery of the selction commitee. If I was a selector I wouldn't select him even for my school team. The Wise REALISTIC OPTION: DINESH KARTHIK instead of Parthiv patel who is more athletic and talented than Parthiv. Why was Jemang Badani not taken as a reserve batsman? Do the selectors want to waste another talent? Hemang Badani is more skilled than our Captain Ganguly. How come Ganguly gets infinte opportunities despite his poor form and bad technique? Ganguly still struggles for the a line & length delivery on the legside. Mc Grath, Vaas & now Shabir Ahmed has proved it. WHAT GIVES GANGULY IMMUNITY? Is it because he is from the North? There is a biased selection process persisting, Its a fact! Please stop wasting talent from Tamil Nadu! Give them opportunities.
Now, as BCCI has annoyed for the replacement of VVS Laxman. India will have to play with the existing players.
What they should open the batting with Sachin and Saurav as this is the most successful pair of India. Rahul should be at number three, Sehwag on number 4. and rest of the order should remain the same even if India plays Patel in the team against Sri Lanka on 27th July, 2004.
dear sir: even though i agree that india did not play well yesterday,i think it was the fault of 2 medium pacers who conceded 115 runs in just 15 overs and not the spinners who did a good job taking 6/127 in 25 overs .hence i feel we should retain both spinners and recall zaheer for the crucial game.also,i had never seen such a selfish innings by sachin.he seemned to be thinking only about a century and not about his country.
