Senior Players should quite
by Smit Soni on Jul 27, 2004 03:36 PM  | Hide replies

It has been disappointing that except Rahul Dravid most of the senior players has failed in recent Asia Cup. Is it worth to give chance to non performing Senior Players like Tendulkar, Ganguly, Sehwag and Zahir Khan than Performing young players like Rohan Gavaskar, Badani, Munak Patel and others.

If Australia can drop player like Michal Beven, than why can't we? Is the indian team is 'Jagir' of all these old bullock carts. Why not to the fresh people?
Who have enthusiasm, willingness to perform and mental attitude.

The way Sachin has played for last 2 games against Bangladesh & Pakistan and some recent Test Matches, it is clearly observed that he is playing for his own pride not for the team, team need agressive, egile and thretening Tendulkar not the Cat dressed tendulkar who has change his style with the fear of non performance.

Hi
in response to your message i would like to say that badani got ample chances to qualify for the squad but he failed on most of the occassions and he is not young on the other hand. Munaf patel is not experienced he should play more of domestic cricket bcus bringing if we bring him in the squad and if he his hit around the field u would loose a bwler even b4 the makin of one.

your views are pretty unfortunate and a result of short sighted ness.Sehwag has scored tons of runs except may be in the asia cup.So has tendulkar and ganguly. To victimise them and asking for replacements for just a couple of bad matches is a perfect indication what a bad memory we have.Pakistan also plays good cricket and there will be times when they will win.
Also comparing badani, munaf etc with the likes of sehwag, tendulkar is like comparing bangladesh with australia.

Replace Sehwag
by Ahmad on Jul 26, 2004 02:05 PM  | Hide replies

Again INDIA downed by its STRONG BATTING order. I think that it is the time to re-think about the opening batsmen. In my opinion eithr Sehwag should drop or he should placed at number 4 or 5. Beacause due to the opening, India losed his 2nd match, 1 from Sri Lanka and one most awaited tie from Pakistan.

So, team management, coach and captain should think about it. Either Ganguly or Yuvraj sgould open.

thats a bad idea my friend. Sehwag is doing so well on opening for the past few days. and yuvi is doing well in middle order. see a few poor matches should not mean thats some one of Sehwags quality should be dropped from this position or from a team lets all trust him.

good luck india
