Tendulkar was pathetic in the Pak match!
by Adi on Jul 26, 2004 05:45 AM

It was a complete disgrace. IS he a desciple of Gavaskar lately? In the Pak match he didn't even try to win. That's a betrayal of the cricket fans in general and Tendulkar fans in particular! I think Sehwag and Ganguly getting out early trying to win the match have dont a lot more than this snobby Tendulkar in this match.

I have half a mind to start liking some other sport. Cricket doesn't deserve our attention with all the match fixing and the betrayals by the demi gods.

One who feels India team is 2nd best after the Aussies, will have to give it a second thought.Good teams always give consistent performances. We are not a consistent side by any means. In order to have a consistent side, one has to stick to a team that has members who are confident of making it to the team even with few bad performances. This particular thing does happen with Indian batsmen. But the bowlers feel the heat every now and then. Those who keep saying India has a balanced side, are doing no good to the team. Critics are there to let the selectors and players know where they are going wrong. But the India team has too many influenced persons for that to happen. Where is the balance? Laxman could not make it to eleven and we had no replacement. Imagine Dravid having to sit out with Laxman, its for sure gonna be difficult even to beat Bangladesh. India are not thinking of backups. There is no all-rounder. If an all-rounder can deliver goods once in atleast every ten matches,it still does a world of good to the team. There cant be a better example than that of Malik. Agarkar would have been a perfect fit into that role, given some confidence.

ganguly again
by beautybabu on Jul 26, 2004 02:00 AM

right then he would rather bowl if the pitch suits him rather than bowl to suit the pitch.

Look at Dravid ganguly he has consolidated his batting style and further adapted himself to the needs of India...i.e...Keeper and blasts as and when required.. I think it is time playe rwith Kumble's experience and grit become captain and a historic player like Ganguly be given rest (in peace) initially from captaincy and if he doesnt change ...from the team...Come on India...open your eyes it is time we realise our potential and the money we pay not watch pansy's speak of doing things they havent...i.e Ganguly shaping the Indian Team.

God bless India and our cricket team

It is amazing that a billion of us think that the Indian c5ricket team should win each time it plays and if it fails to do so we think it is because of bad luck.

Look at Australia ... they are a team of winners and that is because they do not rest on past laurels or the persons name ...had that been the case and not national interest the Waugh's would have played longer and not kicked out...albeit ..ceremoniously...!!!!!

Look at our cCaptain...he might be a great onside player but any opposition worth its weight know how temperamental he is, how scared of fast deleveries he is...it is pathetic watching him field ,shy away from attackinh the ball and basically playing in a way that emphasises the fact that if he hurts himself playing for the country he might deflower himself and leave himself unfit for a prospective groom.

Wake up man we are a notion of people who have been throgh the worst you could have imagined and sissy's like ganguly should be sent home to be in the 'ZANANA'

What has he done for the Indian cricket team in the past 2 years apart from scoring centuries against great competetive nations like kenya and Bangaladesh,he is a pathetic fielder and bowls only t

If Shoab Mallik can hit a 100+ in this pitch, i fell we have great talented batsman who can do so much better..but pressure kills us....Its high time Ganguly realizes that he is the captain and a captain is more responsible than any other member of the team..he is representing more than 1 billion people...i dont know how was he playing and what was he trying to do......Guys u have to win this cup, its extremely important to us....learn to handle pressure and never be onverconfident...i feel the win in Pakistan is still on their head and they did procrastinate in the past so many months.....Best of Lch and Make it happen...

Tendulkar proves his real class
by ujsesh on Jul 25, 2004 11:22 PM  | Hide replies

yet again this time, tendulkar proves his real class - no the one the media projects but his real class.
he is just an ordinary batsman struggling to connect with his past, struggling to hold his place in the team. 80 odd in in 43 overs, lost his wicket just when he needs to prove to be a match-winner! His priorities are his endorsements and restaurant chain - for that he just needs to have a place in the team. And, he barely manages to do that.

Hope the tendulkar eulogizers look at matchwinning performances before going ga-ga over him.

I wonder if u know anything about cricket. Someone saying Sachin is no good a player or selfish should definitely be his enemy and so the enemy of the nation(India). The WWW is of enormous size. If u want to kill time, visit all kinds of web sites but cricket related ones. Sachin Tendulkar is a gifted player who plays for the country keeping all his personal interests aside. Never post this kind of stuff here after. This is my advise and i am sure this would be the advise of millions of cricket fans.

RE:Tendulkar proves his real class
by Tendulkar Fan on Jul 26, 2004 06:54 AM
Well all the Indians expect to see is that Tendulkar score a century in each match and win the match for India. Why can no other batsman accept this responsibility. People say India loses when Tendulkar scores. Well!!! lets look at it this way. When Tendulkar scores no one else in the team scores, whereas when others score rest of the team contribute. So if Tendulkar cannot finish it off, he is straight away disregarded. You expect him to open the batting and bat right through to the end also. I think its just the expectations from Tendulkar is so high that people think in this fashion. Please also see the contributions from all other batsmen before commenting on someone who you will never in your life ever even come close to.

Ha!Ha!Ha! u seem 2 really hate success. My dear Boy, if Sachin has so much money and he has made it thru cricket, what has that to do with his game??? Yesterday, Pakistan played very well and hats off to them. Does that mean that one day if Indians have a bad day on the field then we start to criticize them??? GROW UP. Sachin is still playing well and he did the right thing, since he knew that on the other end wickets were tumbling, he played like a matured player, trying to reach the bonus point figure. its wasunfortunate he lost his wicket. In cricket nothing can be predicted, every ball is crucial. I think u should come on the ground and try to play in a pressure situation. I can imagine your state!!!!!

I will go with this opinion... I dont see/feel any great class in Tendulkar's batting these days. Yuvraj is wonderful to watch when he get going.. so is Sehwag and Ganguly.. Dravid is the best anytime anywhere..... My opinion is "Sachin is no more an exciting/classy player, but certainly he is a worthy player in the team"

Absolutely true Sir. I totally agree with your views.I think he is playing for personal records more than anything else. I think that it is high time that he decides to sit out or perhaps take a break from the game like Nasser Hussain so that youngsters who are craving for an opportunity to play in the Indian team get a chance to do that. Let me remind the selectors that there are a lot of players waiting in their wings from the recently concluded Junior World Cup.You should be surely trying them out and giving Tendulkar a rest I belive.

if Tendulkar were not there then even 225 runs would not be possible. it were due to little master that we were able to get the much needed bonus point. whoever pointed to him that means he doen't know anything about this game. Just close ur eyes and think ur playing against PAKISTAN and 5 wkts down and chasing the target, then u will realise what Tendulkar has achieved. If his only priority were endorsements and restaurants he would have opted only for weaker teams and not this kind of important tournament where there is only less chance of improvment. So before pointing to others first see who u are. u r not the expert commentator of the game. If u don't speak nice things about INDIA then don't speak harsh things, that is my only request to u all indians, if u are truly indians. And dont get upset with loss. it is just a game and we have to accept this.

Hi!
The site updates fairly quickly if India wins but may be it would take another few hours to be updated so that the Indians may be out of their tears by then. Wow. What happened to the so called second best team in the world. Lost to srilanka, lost to Pakistan. Where is the great batting line up. Where is that improve bowling attack. Today Pakistan took revenge of the loss in Pakistan. India would be out of the tournament and even if they don't still they couldn't beat India. Was nice to see Indian team having given up the match 10 overs before it had to end. A player like Sachin just said Ok, I am going for 240. So, that's the second best team in the world. Trying to save the bonus point. hhahahahah. Pakistan Rules. As always. 55 to 33. India could never get ahead.

Yes Mr Pakistani ,
Indians play with some brain also ,which you might not have heard about . As soon as they came to know that it will not be wise enough to go for the big target with 5 top players back, they simply changed the tactics .You will come to know about it on wednesdey when India will win against sri lanka and go to final removing the poor pakistan team out of the tournament .Cricket is indeed a funny game , but its sure that this win is no way going to cure your illness after you had a massive disaster at the home ground against India. goodluck

Go back to see a recording of the match to see ESPECIALLY the last four balls of the indian batting, you will see that more than Kumble or Balaji the Pakis' faces were stretched!! And don't worry about India, it will anyway go into the final. In the meanwhile you can probably calculate how many times has Pakistan lost to India in a world cup match?!

We dont mind 55-33, because battles(insignificant matches) are not important as long as the Wars(World cup)are won. Similar to small battles in Kashmir can be won by your subversion, but the Major Wars(1947, 1965 and remember Bangladesh -1971) have been ours. You asked for it loser :().

Hello Mr. Proud Pakistani!
The tone of your message says that you must be dying for this moment ever since India beat the hell out of Pakistan in their home-turf in the presence of die-hard non-sportive Pakistan fans(and not cricket fans) like you. Yes, its true that India lost to Pakistan but in the words of your very own skipper Inzamam, it happens once a while cricket when teams get bowled for scores like 122. With a little knowledge of mathemetics, you would understand that 241 is much bigger than 122. As far as the defeat goes, better you sleep well for the time till India meets Pakistan again, because after that you would not be able to sleep for countless nights when you suffer a humiliating loss to India.

There are too many Don Bradmans waiting beside the TV sets. Since Sachin has to take on batting from the begining, Ganguly cannot afford to allow Sachin to bowl the full 10 overs, which would make him tired.
I think we sahll allow our team to perform and not unnecessarily criticise at one loss.

RAJA, i have no idea what's getting you so off-track and so hyper, but without logic, its all wasted. get a life guys, and get some logic- objective mind helps- and it would help the indian cause as well. pity you, still good luck :)

It seems you know a lot more about bowling changes than India's most successful captain. Get a life guys!! This was the same captain who went up the order in Australia because the same sachin was not getting runs, so preserve the latter's confidence and help him run into form. And as far as not allowing to Sachin to bowl goes, its because of the captain's unwillingness Tendulkar's ended with 9 wickets in the tournament. I think the statisticians made a mistake or were benevolent coz hey!! the jealous captain didn't let him bowl.

Please mind ur language before speaking. what do u mean by jealous. if he were jealous then he would not have given him a single over. as u all know that sachin is a irregular bowler, so ganguly have to gamble b/w sachin, sehwag, yuraj and himself. so he tries with this set of irregular bowlers. and it might happens that out of this 4 irregular bowlers any one can click on his day. it is not jealous but it is gambling. And if u beleive in records then for ur information Sachin has suceeded more under ganguly' captainship than any other captains. by telling this that he is jealous u r doubting about Ganguly' ability. Take the eg. of yesterday match where sachin were trash in his very first over for 12 runs. then also he(ganguly) bought him and then u know what happened.

BR, gangu didnt give a single over to sachin against lanka-we lost by 12/13 runs! earlier sachin was severely underused against AUS, PAK & even in WC & on NZ tour. clearly, gangu fails when he is needed to think as captain or even player! he himself bowls only in matches where opposition is in dumps or weather conditions suit his limitations a LOT! else, he is as afraid to take the ball as he is to face shoaib & mcgrath with bat! who can forget the injury-drama that ganguly played on the eve of world cup match against Pak in england! face it-he is ignorant & a coward. why else did he force dravid to declare when sachin was 6 runs from his first double against pakis? gangu has got some godfathers on BCCI (which of course is another very dubious entity)& if it werent for them he wouldnt even be in the test team, let alone being captain. after b'desh match sachin actually told shashtri he loved to bowl & could get imp wickets, but it was captain's decision to use/not use him-ramiz raja told that sachin was most feared spinner in pak camp! but inferiority complex takes over gangu. of course sachin will fail at times, but at least he is willing to give it all. gangu lacks- big time!

BR, gangu didnt give a single over to sachin against lanka-we lost by 12/13 runs! earlier sachin was severely underused against AUS, PAK & even in WC & on NZ tour. clearly, gangu fails when he is needed to think as captain or even player! he himself bowls only in matches where opposition is in dumps or weather conditions suit his limitations a LOT! else, he is as afraid to take the ball as he is to face shoaib & mcgrath with bat! who can forget the injury-drama that ganguly played on the eve of world cup match against Pak in england! face it-he is ignorant & a coward. why else did he force dravid to declare when sachin was 6 runs from his first double against pakis? gangu has got some godfathers on BCCI (which of course is another very dubious entity)& if it werent for them he wouldnt even be in the test team, let alone being captain. after b'desh match sachin actually told shashtri he loved to bowl & could get imp wickets, but it was captain's decision to use/not use him-ramiz raja told that sachin was most feared spinner in pak camp! but inferiority complex takes over gangu. of course sachin will fail at times, but at least he is willing to give it all. gangu lacks- big time!

for your kind information, we had five specialists bowlers in the team and also, do you remember how many runs sachin went for in his very first over? Had it been jealousy of Ganguly, then we would have seen sachin not getting to ball at all and also we would have seen Sachin batting somewhere in the middle order instead of opening.

u no what u don't have to blame the captain for this. i know just because the captain is bengali so u are discriminating him. so shut up and mind ur own business. did u forget that he is the most successful captain of India. so don't mess with bengalis who ever u are. if u think he is a bad captain then try to do captaincy urself and let me see what kind of hero u are.
