Azhar
by Sudarshan on Aug 10, 2004 09:06 PM

It is evident that Mr Mani and gang have no clue about what they are talking. Why is everyone after Azhar (they did this to Hansie Cronje as well).

I for one feel if they think they can run Azhar off this earth they are mistaken, he will fight back and fight hard.

On the other hand I have no sympathy for him as well. But let the ICC prove that they mean action by getting Akram, Warne et all completely out of the game.

But I would like to question their authority on all this in the first place (tomorrow they will Azhar cannot run a gym since cricketers will train there.).

All in all I feel the honchoes have something to fear from Azhar therefore they are seeking to gag him forever.

Let ICC focus its energies in getting nations like India/Pakistan/Srilanka etc up the curve in terms of infrastructure like pitches/stadiums etc. Also let them invest more in technology and science.

Lastly let ICC solve the chucking problem by first banning Murali and second by eradicating his record from the record books.

spare azhar.... please !!
by Deep George on Jul 25, 2004 09:59 PM

Mani keeps on barking like a stupid mad dog, leave azhar alone. If he is so sincere to the game, then first of all take actions against Salim Malik and Wasim Akram.

Even Herschelle Gibbs was spared..

I know that we indians, loved azhar so much, and since he has betrayed us, its hard to forgive him.
thats why he has been given a life ban.

What right does Mani (the monkey ) have to stop azhar from even talk about the game.
after all who is mani. No one is bigger than the game itself, Not even the ICC president.

Mani is nothing but a piece of shit which can bark like dogs......

I would never regret a word i've written. come what may !!

I have a request to BCCI :
please help azhar. dont ever forget what he has done for the country in the past. He is just seeking for a means to make his living..... If BCCI doesnt help him, no one will....

thank you.

Match Fixing
by Parthipan on Jul 23, 2004 01:27 PM

I think the entire subject of match fixing has been more of an emotional response. Any body who has played cricket at any level, will know that it is very difficult to really 'fix' a match. Unlike horse racing or boxing where there are very few involved, a cricket match is difficult to fix. With the absense of any concrete and complete information on how exactly a match was fixed (this has never been explained to anybody's satisfaction) I would say that everybody has got on to a universal band wagon for their own reasons.

one way decission
by Veeresh on Jul 23, 2004 11:33 AM

It is very sad to read.Being ICC chief, he need to think before commenting on a player who was part of a game of cricket for a long period and many world record. We accept that he involved in the match-fixing issue. Don't forget the issue about warne who was commentator when he was facing a one year ban. That time where you are Mr.Mani, where was ICC?. Why this is happening? they only not following the equal rules among the players, and if they don't have rights to do anything to Azzar in this issue then how they will comment about him?. I rather cricket followers, lovers should oppose his Comment and support cricket lezent kapil Dev's Comment to lift the ban on Azzar. Mr Mani think about players like Akram, saleem malik and about players who's name also in the fixing list. Why can't you solve that issue?.Atleast now ICC has to think about the cricket as a whole not like asian, australian,pakistani..BCCI also need to think about this issue and they need to come to rescue his players whenever the outside people will put their nose in to our players. My request is to lift the ban on Azzar and give him a chance to serve for the cricket by other means which he deserve and cricket needs.

Ludicrous
by mayor on Jul 22, 2004 01:26 AM

I think this is the height of ridicule. How come a guy can't have any relations with cricket whatsover because he is corrupt. I think he is getting his punishment already I don't think he needs anymore.
Ehsan Mani might be dignified in his answers, but he is acting emotionally not rationally. He should be rusticated from his post. I blame the media as well when you conduct such interviews, how come you don't counter the answers give to you and report that as well how come media is not acting as it should. Shame on you guys as well.
Shame on Ehsan Mani,Dalmiya and Speed as well for their conduct. On one hand I don't deny them contributing to the game, but they should do the just equally to the things they are saying, how come I have never heard Ehsan Mani comment on Salim Malik or Wasim or to that matter, South African players and Australian players, this is pure ludicrous.Azhar may have been corrupt, but he was a great player as well, nobody can take that away from him.
"They who conduct these games don't know the first thing about the game, what passion do they have towards the game but for gaining power and money"
I don't think my one mail will make a difference, but i hope.

Azhar Issue
by Nelson John on Jul 21, 2004 09:07 PM

I have read the Interview given by Mr.Eshan Mani and what surprises me is the way the ICC and BCCI are handling this issue. There are so many tainted cricketers all over the world who are enjoying their stincts either with coaching, commntating etc. where is the ICC?Are they in Slumber? why Azhar is being made the scape Goat when nothing concrete has been proved against him..what baffles me is the way the ICC and BCCI are working in tandem to get Rid of this Great Cricketer who has done so much for the Game Nationally and Internationally.I being a keen cricket lover is at deep anguish the way this issue is taking it course,I condemn the ICC and BCCI and all their associations to look into the matter in a broader perspective and give a clean chit to Azhar which will enable him to pursue his cricketing relations once again and also benefit the cricket fraternity in a huge way....Kudos to the Wristy Man for his Tempermant and cool head during this Ordeal.God Bless U Azhar...
