The statistics regarding Ind/SL last 10 matches win/loss record is completely incorrect. I was looking the records only yesterday and I believe the Win/Loss/No result record for the last 10 matches should be: 6/2/2. The wins include the 1 WC 2004 match, 3 Natwest Series matches and last 2 games in the Coca-Cola Cup in 2001. SL wins include the first CC Cup game and the Final of the cup in 2001. I am not sure where your statistics come from but it is shameful to see such poor analysis of the articles being publised. Would like to see a correction. Regards, Omkar Joshi
VERY TRUE. Who cares to run when u can get runs in boundries, if no boundries and ur out, then u always have Dravid,Yuvraj and Kaif to Save you. Tendulakr the Senior most member should set an example for all but ALAS he is just concerned with RECORDS and so.......
We expect better column writers from Rediff. I think Dean Jones is just fond of making some sensational statements otherwise sachin is one of the hardest runners, sehwag and rahul are definitely above average and yuvraj and kaif are top class. And to call them lazy is too an understatement to be believed by anyone. Only Laxman and Ganguly are a little tentative in their running between the wickets.
hi manmeet i am sorry to say that sourav is not selfish captain.becuase he dedicated his favourite batting place(opening) for the team and also he did his role very well as captain in the world cup.
Hi dean, 1.Sehwag is a lazy runner.... may be 2.Laxman not as bad as 18 months ago has improved 3.Saurav, yea but he has improved a lot in fact his last few hundreds had lesser and lesser boundaries and they didnt take 150 balls 4.Sachin probably one of the best runners in the indian team remember sharjah 1998
please do not base your views on one match that too the first of the season, its easy to criticize but tell me one team whose top4 have the ability and range of strokes of these four. For heavens sake take your time before criticizing, if you say rusty yes definitely but poor runners is going far. vijay
Mr.Deano you got it wrong. It should be top two not top four as i do accept that Laxman and Sourav are poor runners.Sachin is a good runner between wickets and Rahul too is not bad.I would also like to comment that Rahul is a singles players so he need to be above the average standards of running but then we should also keep in mind that 'Mr Dravid' keeps wickets for 50 overs and nearly bats for the same amount of overs due to lack of form of Sachin. I think we are getting to demanding with Dravid . Laxman and Sourav surely need to improve their running between the wickets.
