for your kind information darren sammy was not the first man tp have p-layeda match without having stepped on the ground.there have been other players for eg. jadeja made his debout in WC 1992 against srilanka, a match in which only 2 balls were bowled.srikanth and kapil dev had opened.

The author is talking about only those matches which were abandoend without a ball being bowled. Since 2 balls were bowled in Ind-SL match, it does not fulfill the criteria.
It is said that Diamonds are cut with Diamond. Rules could be sustained by an amendment to that Rule if necessary. Why NOT ICC go the 'Full Distance' by saying if a Match is signified as 'started' when the Toss has been made then with another Toss of the Coin one of the Team can be 'Tossed-Out' and the Team whose Captain wins the Toss will be the Winner of that Match!
