Everybody talking about Agarkar..but what about Parthiv Patel..we are going to play one day series only n Ganguly already said that Dravid is goning to keep, then why selectors are goning for Parthiv..If any emergency we can send him in two hrs.. This is also shut a place in the scod...while we have allrounders like Agarkar and Powar, Gavaskar..I think selectors have reserved a place in a team for a younger from last two years n no others giving a chance for keeping...we have to solve this problem very soon if we want to be World Winner.....
I feel too much fuss is being made over Agarkar's omission. Afterall among 14 players only 4 quickies can be accommodated. India today has about 9 of them if you include Amit Bhandari,Munaf Patel,SS Paul and Siddharth Trivedi besides the unlucky Agarkar. I left out Salvi because his body is too fragile for the International stuff. Of the 9, Balaji,Pathan, Zaheer and Nehra got selected. Agarkar who has improved in physical strength was unlucky to be left out. But so is Bhandari who is dropped all the time and never gets a chance to prove his mettle. You never know, Agarkar could still make it if Nehra or Zaheer break one of their bones.
The hearts of Mumbaikars are bleeding again! Alas gone r the days when the entire Bombay Ranji squad used to be accomodated in the team. The raw talent of the youngsters have unfortunately forced Agarkar out - the same happened to Shastri and Manjrekar. Compare videos of Agarkar and Pathan batting and u will realize why he is out. As for Saurav baiters, remember Dravid's decision after winning the toss in the 2nd test against Pakistan and how the Indian team showed all loss of sense of direction. Saurav returned for the decider, was straightaway into fluent form and led India to a resounding victory. No one around the world questions Saurav's place in the Indian team apart from we Indians. Read the history books and you will see it is this very trait of our ancestors which enabled people from a tiny island to rule us for 200 years
thanks to one and all for the kind of support you have been giving to Agarkar. Sooner or later, one of the selectors will go through all this stuf to realize how imortant a player he is, because people who r supporting him r no fools. Agarkar's comeback is written on the wall. All we need to do is wish that our team would go on to win the Asia cup.

I am really surprised to see so many supporters for Agarkar. Yes no doubt he is a terrific bowler, especially in recent times. But I cant accept that he is all-rounder. He was given thousand oppurtunities to prove himself. I think he is the only player who was given maximum oppurtunities. Think of players like Murali Karthik, Badani, if only they have got such oppurtunities, they would have improved that much better. What pressure are we talking about for Agarkar. Every international player have to perform under pressure. Also Ganguly is not a new captain. I dont understand how Ganguly can prevent Agarkar being selected. What selectors might have thought is since Zaheer and Nehra are fresh from injury, they might have wanted to test them against a low profile series and use it when selecting team for the home series which is probably more important. I am sure if any of these bowlers fail, Agarkar is the automatic choice. Lets wish our team all the best.

hi sasriniv, i proved thru the deatails of last 15 matches that Agarkar was best of 5 bolwers we have. statistics are not my own. i compiled them from cricinfo.com. opk Agarkar has given many opportunities. But he proved in last 15 matches. What do selectors take for selecting a player, recent prefomance or past one. ok! they might want to make injury-returned zaheer,nehra to prove. but shud they omit the best player due to that. please read my msg with subject: recent statistics show agarkar is far better than zaheer,nehra,balaji. srinivas karlapudi
This indian team for asia cup is very good but ajit agarkar is better player for one dayer match than zaheer khan because ajit is very good bowler and also a very good hard hitter. he is match winner player. indian team have three best fast and inform bowler(irfan pathan,laxmipathi balaji,ashish nehra)so i think there is no need of Zaheer khan because he is out of form and not reliable bowler for india. so i think ajit was better choice than zaheer khan.
