west indies should follow indian path
by nitin on Jan 27, 2004 12:08 PM

Now India is almost same as world champion Aussies.
West Indies should learn something from India
How to come back after a long while in fast pitch.
They should try to spend some more time of pitch
before scoring some remarkable score in this running tour.

Best of lusk of some good cricket with fighting.

Feeling Sorry for Lara
by Sandeep M Deokar on Jan 27, 2004 11:16 AM

I am realy feeling very much sorry for Brian Lara and Sir Viv Richards. west Indies team today is having a bunch of extremely good young players the likes of Gayle,Hinds,Serven,Samuels,Powell,Edwards,Taylor and young Davon Smith also shows that he is having talent as well these players are with the experience of Lara and Chandrapaul they can form a very good team but the problem arises in there bench strength see in the above list Hind Samuels,Taylor all these players are injured and they doesnt have that bench strength yet to replace them.
Lara after so much hardwork finds a good team to challenge any team in the world but he is hampered with the injuries of the young players.
what Lara has to do now he just has to gather his players and tell them we have to play with this team only and win a game now ..
I know this West Indies Team can beat any big team in the world .

Yes, WI are goin thru rough patch...
by Dipendra Srivastava on Jan 27, 2004 11:03 AM

Players perform and get applauded and if they dont, they get taunted. but this time, with west indies getting the most bittering taste of defeat ever in the era where even 250 is supposed to be an avg. score has again raised issues of the team management and co-ordination among managers, players, physio and most importantly pschologist. When we say for lara, "Right man in the wrong team" it seems to llok true day after day, match after match . WestIndies of 70's-80's of 3W's and of 90's when Greenidge, Haynes opened, richardson then richards then harper then hooper who scored at the rate australia scores today and an exciting keeper Dujones who supported the job of 1st slip also. There score was defended equally responsibly by Walsh, amborse, benjamin/bishop/marshal and patterson. We miss that team and hope some day, the shoes of these class players will fit nto the modern players with learning and not ignoring, working on the weakness and not playing the worng balls with their strong shots, learnging to dive and chase the ball till the end of the road. I am sitting here writing this piece of advice, and its easy to do, but its their job to perform & my job to rate the performance.
