Ind,Pak want tour deferred
by srinivas batni on Jan 14, 2004 07:19 PM

India and Pakistan have played many test matches when things were still worse.I think we should visit pakistan and show similar grit as we exhibited in Australia.Only then will Pakistan come to India when we can give them a good thrashing in the test matches.
Despite the absence of key players this Pak team has been performing well and should prove to be a good competitor to the present Indian team.
The timing needs to be checked to ensure our boys get good rest after the Aussie tour.

Chances for young players

Now a days losing and winning a cricket match makes no much difference. It is really strange that BCCI is worried for the fact that the players have only 17 days of rest. Why dont India prepare a team of 25 with some deserving new players, which would solve the overbooking of some senior players and also provide opportunity for the young players. Making "A" team is no use since it is useful only for the selection process but not the main team. The revenues in modern cricket is huge, let it be evenly distributed. As central government employees are fixed with 60 years of age as upper limit and presidents term is 5 years, Government term is for 5 years, I wish some timeframe should be fixed for the players also. It is really sick of seeing one single player for decades. A drastic change is required in selection and retaining pattern.
