foolish decision........foolish captiancy!!!!!
by srinivas tanniru on Jan 06, 2004 07:04 AM

Irrespective of the match result, i would blame ganguly for his poor captiancy. If team's performance in this series is a positive aspect, ganguly , i feel went a few steps down as captian. What respect did he give to Kumble ??? Did'nt give him a chance to go after the Aussies. If one wants to earn distinction as good captian, it should happen by some natural means. But it looks like Ganguly is in hunt to make name for himself and hence took some foolish decisions. Let's see what happens from here on.

Was that a report or a criticism?
by Soumitra on Jan 05, 2004 10:02 PM

Reporting is done best when it is not biased. I went to rediff.com for the report of the day's game, and all I get is why Ganguly did not do this or he did not do that!!! Looked like an editorial to me.

That too not justified comments at times. Why was not Tendulkar asked to bowl!!! Such a simple thing, don't you think Ganguly would remember that because he is seeing Tendulkar around all the time in the field. Please think before writing next time. Tendulkar was most likely tired, he would be needed in second innings for batting etc. Why risk his ligaments? Or joints? Or muscles? Thank God you are not the captain.
[BTW, as much as Ganguly hates to bowl, he went to bowl too to give his bowlers a rest]

Request to rediff.com: Please make your reporters pass some sort of basic tests before they start publishing on the front page. Thank you.

Are U a match reporter or another self styled expert on everything including captaincy
by Sudip Majumder@oracle.com on Jan 05, 2004 09:53 PM

You seemed to have your role confused. Are you a designated expert on cricket. What cricketing life did you have - or an arm-chair self styled appointee who uses his power of pen (thanks to rediff) to spit out the garbage. Agarkar failed miserably and so is Kartick - what makes you think that Tendulkar would have been successful? He batted for nearly 10 hours and the wickets he tok in Adelaide were rather a gift than any bowling genious. STOP DOING THE TENDULKAR BHAJANA AND JUST CONCENTRATE ON YOUR MATCH REPORT
