shame

It 's same full act, keeping a person who is good for nothing istead of of dashin Dinesh mongia. It is more shamefull act that my yesterdays comments has not yet been posted.

Shame

It's real shame to the board of indian cricket and all who chose him insted of so many other player who can do much better than him(Rohan). It's how India and Indians goes on recognising a player with the someone elses identity(influence). This is how india works on money.

Like father unlike son

It is so pathetic to watch an undeserved candidate just climbing the ladder silently without a major accomplishment. There are lot of players who have performed well in ranji compared to him.
Not all Gavaskars are Sunils. Is Rohan a replacement for Mohammad Kaif?? I don't think so. Not only in Cricket., but personal influences are affecting India in most fields.

Selectors Scandal
by chakradhar on Jan 03, 2004 11:22 PM

How on earth people select Rohan Gavasker for 3 nation one day series in Australia. How is he better than Hemang Badani or Goutam Gambir in batting or fielding?. Where does he stand in the long list of talented people before him. If not scandal then what is this? If the selection goes like this then the credibility of selectors will be lost completely (already some has been eroded)

Evil head of nepotism!
by Muralidhar rao on Jan 03, 2004 10:09 PM

In the recent Asian A team Kenstar contest, it was Gautam Gambhir who was in terrific form. Any sensible Indian fan would have opted for Gambhir's selection. Rohan Gavaskar is a good player and a good person. But being a good sportsman does not mean he should have been selected ahead of Gambhir who is also a good sportsman, execpt that Gambhir's father is not a powerful political clout as Sunil Gavaskar is in BCCI. It looks like there were some strings pulled by Rohan's father for Rohan to go to Australia instead of the quick scoring and much more consistent Gambhir. This is a case of nepotism at its height. Gambhir is an opening batsman but there is no reason why he cannot adapt to playing in the middle order, unless he is being punished for his failure against South Africa two years back in Dacca.

What about Gambhir?
by Srinivas Bharadwaj on Jan 03, 2004 09:52 PM

Hello,
Now that Bangar has been drafted, why is Gambhir
not an option also? Sachin, Sehwag, Dravid, Ganguly,
Yuvraj, Laxman, Bangar, + 4 bowlers, seems that there
is no space for others. I would like to see Gambir
1 down.

Rohan Gavaskar to replace Kaif
by Sunil K on Jan 03, 2004 09:51 PM

Good Luck Rohan Gavaskar...
Bad luck with other good players in the dosmestic circuit is they were not born to Dalmiya or other greats!!! These ppl do not know they r working for a country which can turn the outcome of matches. if India looses, we would say India - land of Billion looses to W Indies / Aus / Eng / NZ etc...
BCCI n infulencials have made it their home industry giving what they want.
can we expect privitization of domestic sports here too like it is done in US?

awful
by prasanna on Jan 03, 2004 08:52 PM

this is awful...Rohan has not done anything spectacular in the recently concluded Asian A tourney. In fact,he was not even in the palying eleven most of the times.Gautam Gambhir or Dinesh Mongia were much more deserving.
