What a pity....Fools can't understand the art of a genius.!!!
by Shiv Nandan Singh on Mar 28, 2004 11:49 PM

It is not only surprising but also embarassing to read such piece of nuisance from literate people from the very own India.A cricketer like Tendulkar rather than playing for his records or to entertain some boring audience plays more to register a win for his country.
When Tendulkar marched into the arena of International cricket he was a mere 16 year old surrounded by experienced buffs in his team. The young blood was free enough to play aggressively and keep the pressure on the lower order experienced batsmen. With growing time his huge experience has contributed a lot more to his skills and style of batting. All the more he knows that the present Indian team does not lack aggressive hitters who can display an explosive firework right from the beginning. What we all need is batsmen who can take the well started off inning to a beautiful and comfortable victory with hardly any margin of errors.Tendulkar has exactly done that. Or what do you think. Can't Tendulkar or dravid play those silly lofty drives over the covers or an upper cut shot over the third man for a six or hit some obnoxious , orthodox shots to the fence and throw their wickets cheaply for entertaining some fool

sachin is still sachin
by nitin on Mar 22, 2004 07:21 PM

just to refresh some memories.....sachin started playing at the age of 16 playing his first match against pakistan in pakistan against bowling likes of wasim akram and waqar. he made his mark on that tour by scoring a 50 but since then he has come a loooooong way.....for almost 6 years of his carreer sachin carried the entire hopes of a nation.....a nation with crazy fanatics who would lash out at him if he failed to score in even one match.....now finally we have a team in which even the 7th batsmen can win win the game for us....and obviously hes much more relaxed....relaxed but not demotivated....i mean your talkin about a guy who has 13000 runs...37 centuries...and an average of 45 in onedayers and more than 50 in tests.....for me there was never a batsmen better than him(i did not see bradman play and im sorry)....give the guy a break and let him play like he wishes to......coz trust me none of us has any right to tel him how to play.......hes a genius and the day he strikes form again....teams would start shivering never before

Really Pathetic
by Pawan Prabhat on Mar 17, 2004 02:20 AM

Yes, it is really pathetic that the media is now debunking Sachin even after his brilliant performance in the last World Cup. I don't see why should anyone have a problem if Sachin is dropping the anchor and steadying the Indian innings. Why do a few people want Sachin to play the way they like it. Forget the records, just a glance at his face will tell you how much committed a player he is. Instead of passsing judgements (even if it is one's job) about Sachin it is better to introspect upon why "you" want that certain people should behave in the manner you prescribe.

Absurd!!
by sitaraman on Mar 11, 2004 11:47 AM

I feel the whole article is abusrd! Are we talking about a fellow who in his 13-odd-year carrier has spared only a few records? Contrary to the claims that he is not taking responsibilities by not playing aggressively, he just does that by mixing caution with aggression. Previously he used to gift his wicket away (sometimes) by playing a rash shot. But now he is matured enough to build his innings and make the opponent work for his wicket. Above all he just knows what is to be done!! Why not the reporters (and few retired cricketers) leave him in his way?

Sachin in Chains - Exacto!
by Madhusudhan Gurumurthy on Feb 27, 2004 09:37 PM

Your article made interesting reading.

It has become painful to watch Tendulkar grope for the ball these days. A session with Sandy wouldn't be too bad an idea.

Well Said...

Can someone put this message accross to Sachin. I think all he needs is self realization. He should do what he wants to do not what others want him to do. Play ur natural hgame sachin: Aggressive & Confidant!!

sachin of late 1990s!!!!! will he be back again?
by krishna kishore on Feb 27, 2004 07:18 PM

The author's comments are perfect and there has been a alot of change in sachin's batting. Hope sachin gets this message. He seems to play with too much caution, not releasing bat in free flow which he used in his early years. This caution and hesitation costed him enough of caught behinds & inside edges.
His recent 241 was made using all bad balls while leaving good ones. It was laxman's innings which caught my eye though he couldn't make a double century.
