Excellent ! Regardless of whether Mr.Sidhu is successful as a politician or not, we as members of the reading public are guaranteed our daily quota of melodramatic so-called truisms and holier-than-thou pronouncements about how we should conduct ourselves. And to make life more interesting, this guy can pontificate in atleast two languages. The ivory tower never seemed taller than when Mr.Sidhu was perched atop it. Let the games begin !!

Sidhu & BJP
by A.H. Venkatachalam on Feb 19, 2004 04:43 PM

Sidhu is a great hitter of balls. Now he has hit a Bumper Jack Pot by joining BJP. He is an eloquent player of words also. His popularity with Cricket fans, particularly with youngsters through his Sidhuism will certainly boost the propsects of BJP. Both will be mutually benefited.

Sidhuisms hide a lot of meaning
by Madhu on Feb 19, 2004 04:09 PM

One thing you can't deny is that though Sidhu's one liners may sound funny and trivial, there is a lot of truth in what he says. Even during the World Cup days he was taken to task for lambasting the Indian team's performance in the initial matches. But the guy was just calling a spade a spade. He was reflecting the fan's indignation at the spineless performance of our 'stars'. The Indian team got their act together and the same Sidhu praised them for it.

People do not seem to look beyond his one liners. The man has some depth in him and I wonder how many of his critics can be so original and witty. The guy is like a gushing tap, spouting his one liners at the touch of a button. I love it. To me most of what he says makes sense. One has to look beyond the superficial part of his talk. They are timely, in context and make sense. If my aunt was a man she would be my uncle... yes, indeed. He made his mistakes, sure. One hopes he has learnt from them.

Keep up the Sidhuisms my friend. At least you jumped into the right 'bandwagon' and are not with the bunch of losers who ruled the country ineptly for the first few decades.

Wish you all the best for the elections.
