Poor batting
by Gautam Mookerjee on Feb 07, 2004 04:03 PM

Geoffrey Boycott and Ravi Shastri have advised the Indian openers to see off the opening overs before launching their attack.Dilip Vengsarkar has given
the same advice. But,if the batsmen lack the technique to play the short ball or the wide ball, how can they see off the opening fury.Neither our batsmen, the
worlds best batting line up as they say, have the ability to play against Lee andGillespie, nor do our bowlers know a thing or two about fast bowling. Then whyThe media hype and consequent waste of millions of manhours seeing the telecast.
It will be a similar pathetic display against Shoaib Akthar and Mohammed Sami.

Gilchrist KILLED the bowlers once more!!
by Asher Pinto on Feb 06, 2004 11:50 PM

An amazing display of savage batting by Gilly. Almost copied by Ponting later on.

Just a note that you erroneously mentioned that Gilchrist's score was 34. That is wrong. He scored 38 in 20 balls!

Repeat, Gilchrist's score was an amazing 38 in 20 balls!!

VB Series: Game 1
by Shrikar D on Feb 06, 2004 09:24 PM

This Indian team definitely knows how to shatter hopes and break hearts !! One can't help wondering if we did this well so far in 'Oz only because the Aussies allowed us to. For the second game in a row, when the hosts got their line and length right (read: bowl at the Indian bats' bodies) we were hopping around like it was going out of fashion. It would probabably be eye-opening to analyze the areas where the Aussie bowlers bowled until Game 11 and compare it their areas at Perth and at the MCG. Whatever, the reasons are, one thing is for certain: It's Over.

crook cricket with indians
by chetan v pagnis on Feb 06, 2004 05:43 PM

Sachin..ganguly..dravid..must forget their past records if they really feel for country and if they have earned a lot then better relax thus giving opportunity to others then playing miserably..atleast the viewer of hope would be happy that the team has lost due to some new and inexperienced players and not 'cause of record maker's failure.

NO LEARNING FROM PAST MISTAKES
by Dr.Sheikh on Feb 06, 2004 04:56 PM

The mistake at Perth has been repeated again by Ganguly by opting to bat knowing fully well that Australians are going to hurl the fast stuff at them.He should have shown some faith in his bowlers to exploit the early support from the wicket.
Now it is all the more difficult to lift the morale of the team. Come on , Saurav show your aggro and give back to the Aussies lessons of the test series.

Shame!!!!
by Sachin on Feb 06, 2004 04:34 PM

Ganguly and boys are paid from the tax which we pay, somebody should convey them that our money is hard earn money, they don't have any right just to get the salary and take it casualy, if they donot have guts to make good use of it, they should step down, and let a poor and needer earn the same. Even any 11 boys, who have never played cricket in their life, would have restricted Austrailian batsman to win up to 40 overs and would have scored near about 150 to 180 on that flat trach!!! Then what is use of them? In fact they should take the moral responsibility and should handover the series to Australia and comeback.

Shamless Mr. Sachin Tendulkar
by atik karedia on Feb 06, 2004 04:10 PM

Dear All Cricket Lovers,

What I should say about todays Indias performance ? This man whom world calls as LITTLE MASTER / STAR BATSMAN is really shameless. Earlier I told many times that he can never be match winner. He always fails to prove himself when team is in UNDER PRESSURE. I repeat UNDER PRESSURE. Just he is playing cricket to achive his personal milestone / records, doing nothing for country. I hate this guy because of his selfish nature. I admit that he is a GREAT PLAYER - AS FAR AS PERSONAL MILESTONE / RECORDS IS CONCERN, he is a run machine, nothing else. He never act as a FIGHTER on the field. I can remember his two great innings one again Pakistan in Chennai Test, which India lost by 16 runs and second against Australia in Sharjah, which India won. Except these innings, he has not done anything for country. You can see the GREAT FIGHTERS like STEVE WAUGH, KAPIL DEV, VIVIAN RICHARDS, JAVED MIYADAD, MARTIN CROWE, BRIAN LARA, LANCE KLUSENER, MICHAEL BEVAN, ALAN LAMB, who has always done great job when team is UNDER PRESSURE.

If any Sachins fan does not agree with me, please let me know.

Atik Karedia
(A former die hard fan of Mr. Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar)
