Luck... LOL :-))

Gillespie would be better off bowling rather than giving these stupid comments. Luck (and the Aussies have been really lucky that they have Steve Bucknor umpiring most of the matches) has really aided the Aussies more often than the Indians. His bowling ain't too special in the series too. What does he think he's talkin about.

Luck running out for India

Mr. Gillespie,

Whatever performance Indians have shown on the tour is very good. no luck factor in it, if any luck is there its in favor of Aussies. Remember LBW given for Tendulkar in 1st test and those not given in last innings of last test (for Justin Langer and Damien Martyn). You should have big heart to accept that your team is lame when M'cgrath/Warne are not there. And fact is that Aussies batsmen have shown poor performance as compared to Indians. I know that your team has a winning habit for long time and would like to continue, but there is somebody for someone at some corner and this time its Indian team. Also note that Steve Waugh wanted to retire after beating India in India. Nobody would forget that he had to fight to save test and series in his own country before retiring.

Finally, I would like to say that be careful, Indians are there gearing up and ready for the VB series finals.

thanks,
- Kedar

Gillespie and the other Aussies are trash talking again. It's the showpiece event of the Aussie domestic ODI calendar and the pressure is more on them to win it than for India not to lose it. India has already done wonderfully well in the tests and it does not matter to me how the VB Series turns out. As for the results at the WACA, as Dravid pointed out, the Indians did not have time to acclimatize. The finals are going to be a whole different story since India is going back to some grounds where they've had some good performances. All India needs to do now, is keep its nerve when the games get close (and they are bound to get that way over the weekend). Good Luck to Saurav's Gangsters !!!

talking too much!
by Raja on Feb 04, 2004 06:46 PM

This is a case of talking too much before a game just to be smashed out of the park! Mr. Gillespie, why do you want to tread the path that Shoiab Akthar, Andrew Caddick and Andy Bichel took and got murdered?? It's you bad luck and for Australia too as you are making such comments before the finals! May god give you the courage to withstand the assault! And don't think you guys bowled excellently in Perth! You guys were helped by the nasty Perth pitch in fact! You guys say we rode on our luck!
