ganguly and rohan batting
by NAVDEEP MAHAJAN on Feb 02, 2004 03:13 PM

The way both of them playing reminds me of the way the school children show the temperament i. e. nervousness. They must understand that they are playing international cricket and should show better mental strength while batting. Getting yourself always in a position where it always looks that u r now on the verge of getting out is a sign of bleak future inspite of the fact that u both r my favourite stars.Rohan must ask his father how to handle this impulsive attitude of batting and only learn to convey the message to the opposition that it is not easy to take u r wicket like u r father handling his career. Ganguly is to sort out his attitude towards losing his wicket so easily and his fans are always sure that he is going to get out on any next ball.I donot mean to hurt anybody but it gives pain to see fighters like u both are die like cowards.

Excellent Article

I think none of the papers or columns explain yesterday's match as well as this Rediff one does. I think Sachin was out to a beauty, Laxman and Saurav were all at sea and could have got out any time, Dravid and Yuvraj gave their wickets away. But the Indian batting was not horrible. I think even the Aussie batting against their bowling int he first innings on this pitch would have suffered. Lot of criticism must go to Agarkar and Pathan. I think either they think they are superstars and can get away with anything or they just are not good enough. With this kind of bowling I think only scores of about 300 are going to be good enough. I think we should stop thinking about the Indian batting and really dig in deep to find some class bowlers like Sami or Razzaq if we cant produce Shoiabs.

What a thrashing indeed!

This really just showed what is in store for any team that under-estimates this Australian cricket team. Yesterday's match was absolute murder. Someone should see if the Aussies can be taken to court for such "behavior" ;).

Here's to a great finals series!

perth loss
by nishat mazhar on Feb 02, 2004 08:42 AM

in the perth one day game against australia, dravid was very slow. he scored some 8 runs in about 39 deliveries he faced. this kind of batting instead of bringing the team out of hole will push the team deeper in to it. i think making 8 runs out of 10 balls is far far better than scoring 8 of 40 balls. yuvraj played a wonderful innings. dravid should try to play something like that if india needs to win in tough situations like this.

how did rohan gavaskar got into team ahead of badani
by Krishna on Feb 01, 2004 11:49 PM

what domestic record got rohan into the team is a debatable question, yet previous match century maker badani is left out for rohan, is this not partial decision by team management ?

VB series
by sumit on Feb 01, 2004 05:58 PM

Indians surely wud hav missed Anil Kumble. He cud hav been lethal on a track tht had grass and bit of bounce on it....also...as "catches win matches"...the opportunity missed by VVS Laxman on the very 2nd ball of the inning proved 2 b the turning point @ the end.
But Indians must concentrate on the Final n need not let their morale down....they hav performed very well thruout the series and I find no reason y they can win the series.
