It was slaughter of the innnocent and was some sort of revenge for their inept batting the previous day. However, I still feel there is something wrong with the attitude of the Indians, especially Ganguly, when they opted to gift around 50 to 60 runs at the end. After yesterday's humilitation, they should have gone full tilt at the Bangla batting and wrapped it up early for a big win of over 150 runs. Sachin and Viru were just going through the motions to complete the 50 over quota. This is not the way of champions like Australia or even Srilanka.... wonder when Ganguly and co will learn to win in style....overall a very mediocre series for India. Chances to impress thrown away by youngsters in the second match... Dhoni was batting as if it was a carnival match and got out unnecessarily...what a waste of immense talent..we have a long way to go to challenge the Aussie dominance..
Sunday's thrashing was of utmost necessity. In competitive cricket there is no place of mercy. India should have thrashed the minnows in each & every encounter. The 2nd ODI had a very sloppy strategy, letting Bangladesh of the hook was unacceptable. The minnows should know how the game is played, the HARD WAY. Wishing the Indian team luck.
I think th indian performance should not be taken out of context. For the first time I thought we had a string of overconfideence written right through their faces when they came out of the first match and ganguly seemed to keep insisting that the victory margin was not what it seemed to be.
When I was a kid and we used to play cricket the youngest fellow was always given the easiest balls to play and he used to feel happy after hitting a few lusty blows. The same happened in matches 1 and 3.
But take that in the context of playing nations. Either we are humiliating bangladesh or we are too confident in ourselves for either of which we paid dearly in the form of loss in the second match
I really think that the second match to an extent reflected the disarray in the indian team. We seem not be capable of beating an international side of high calibre. Suddenly after pakistan we seem to be on a new low. and it does not stop. The team should also worry about the bench strength. It seems like there is hardly any promise in them. With such a strong cricket playng leauge in the country the quality of bench strength shouldbe worrying and should not hide the realities.
