Futher to my writeup on the issue, even the Supreme Court hs observed that the BCCI poll should be acceptable to public. As we all know that at the time of presidential election of BCCI, Hon. court had appointed an observer - a retired Judge to supervise election process of the Board in the AGM, Mr. Dalmiya didnot allow the Judge to perform his duties which amounted to the contempt of the court. All the affiliated Associations have the voting right by law constitutionally, yet however, Mr. Agashes vote was not considered. On what ground? Was it a Midas Touch? It is time for all cricket lovers to raise their voice and show their concern about autocratic approach of Mr. Dalmiya and establish a more transperant and clean administration for this Gentlemens game of cricket. Nobody is inevitable and likewise Mr. Dalmiya also. He should be more democratic in his approach in conducting Board Presidents election, not depriving the right to vote. This was absolutely undemocratic. This was not a Midas Touch. It is a shame for the country that people are fighting for power in sport as well. When players were fighting for their rights, he is the one who was trying to supress cricketers and had selected parallel squad. Was this a Midas Touc? He went upto the extent of getting a resolution passed in the Board to empower him to negotiate on behalf of the Board upto 2007. On what count and for what. Was it a Midas Touch? He must gracefully vacate and serve cricket selflessly The country will then be , perhaps, proud of him. The Board has , unfortunately, become a group of vested interest and that is how the game is harmed and countrys prestige at stake. Enough is enough please. Vaman Jani
