Anil is a highly disciplined, dedicated and a thinking cricketer. He will go on playing and setting bench marks for others to emulate. We need to have such dedicated and commited Indians in every walk of life. A fine detailed career chart by Rediff.
anil kumble is the greatest spinner that has born on indian soil . there were many ups and downs in his life but he was always determined. he did believe in himself and the price he got today by passing the record of kapil dev is seen by everyone. congratulation to anil kumble.
Why was the name of the great Vinoo Mankad & Subhas Gupte wer not present in the list of great indian bowlers. Were they inferior to even ravi shastri or what?
Those are some amazing stats man. Great job. Goes on to show what a great bowler Kumble is. But his home and away records are mighty different. Huge difference in the average. One would expect it going by the nature of pitches but this is where i thing Warne scores over Kumble who has got an outstanding away record too (except in India thankfully). Also heartening to know that Bajji is also in the list and is catching up soon. Wonderful to have had the opportunity to have seen these 2 in action in tandem. Keep the tri- colour flying high guyz.
This is excellent collection.... Really wonderful.Very good tabulation with each and every angle of cricket. No one can expect/imagine more than this. A sportsman/woman can get whatever he/she wants from this data. Really beautiful tabulation. Keep it up!!!
Kumble's strike rate is a wicket every 66 balls. McGrath's is 52 while Warne and Murali are 58. Besides 75% of Kumble's wickets are in India with many of them due to umpire's help - cheating decisions. I think Kapil was much better - he deserved the record for many more years. And certainly, Kumble is a shadow in comparison to Warne, McGrath and Murali.
