Why only 500 wickets? Kumble should be asked to try for 5000, and for 11 wickets in an innings. Seriously, I am disappointed that Irfan Pathan's excellent performance has been completely overshadowed by the big hype of Kumble's "record".
I see kumble gettting some where around 550 wickets. he is 34 and will be around the playing field for 2 more years. Most of the cricket matches played produce results hence the chances of getting wickets is getting better as days progress in cricket. I am sure Kumble is aware of it and will be more lethal and more descisive than ever.
He has taken about 80 wickets in the last one year or so. This justifies the fact that it is more probable that he is going to cross 500.
JUMBO you have atleast 100-150 wickets more to take.
