Pitch Report
by Shankar.C.N. on Dec 07, 2004 05:39 AM

If I remember correctly there have been two occasions in which A Test Match was called off by the Umpires when they found the Pitch to be 'unsuitable'. One was in the West Indies in which the very first ball showed the 'under - prepared' pitch's viciousness. In this case - Mumbai pitch what was the 'Report' from the Umpires saying?

Australians are cowards
by Satish on Dec 06, 2004 11:49 PM

Australians are cowards and they have fear of loosing to other teams particularly Asian teams. It was fair pitch. Australia could have taken advantage of it also. It was a narrow win for India.

This is an evidence that Australia cannot play quality spin and they don't have quality spinners. They have bunch of chuckers just like as in Baseball game. I think they should take the Baseball as their profession.

Aussies accept your defeat
by vamshi on Dec 06, 2004 11:12 PM

Iy your playing professional cricket you should not be complaining about the pitch...The teams from sub Continent when they tour Australia they just try to compete and play good entertaining cricket....I have never seen any team from sub continent complaining about the pitch in Perth...i dont think we should be playing cricket on that pitch because it is dangerous you might get injured because the ball rises above ur chest consistently....The Aussie might play good there but you cant except the same from sub continent teams....
IF your Professional Cricketers you should be able to play what ever the conditions..

Thanks
Vamshi

mumbai pitch
by Vishwas on Dec 06, 2004 11:02 PM

In one of the articles written in a magzine, Pointing talks of the Nagpur pitch,
He says India lost the match before it began, the team which addapted to the pitch won the match.
The same should apply to the Mumbai match, the team that adapted first to the pitch won the match. What does pointing have to say about it???

Australia complaint over pitch

Would Australia have complained if they won the match?

Both sides had equal oportunities on the wicket - India perfromed better, end of story.

Had Australia won the match, they would have been singing the glories of their superior application (against the inferior performance of India) in all conditions.

When the games ends in three days and Australia wins, the entertainment value of the remaining days does not concern the Australians.

Australia simply do not like to or expect to lose. They are sore losers.

Cheers
Raj

Australia must be stopped at any cost, they are very adamant
by plsraju on Dec 06, 2004 06:23 PM

The current Australian Cricket establishment is turning adamant. They want to win all games. If they loose, they protest it at all means. They are ones who started sledging. They couldnt accept Murali becoming the highest wicket taker and now, they are complaining against Mumbai pitch. There was more chances,India could have won the Chennai test.If it had won, then the series would have been shared.

Pitch
by Ashok Mittal on Dec 06, 2004 04:57 PM

Does this mean that Perth pitch will be changed drastically? Many teams cannot handle fast pitches lica at Perth and matches are over in a couple of days- not good for entertainment, as stipulated by Australia. Right? Or are they saying that matches should be fixed such that no match gets over early enough?

This is not more than just the hypocracy of the top cricketing nation. They just can't digest their defeat with grace. They think that winning comes to them by default whenever they play with another team. I wonder what will happen if other teams start lodging complaint with ICC against Aussies for preparing fast pitches and defeating rivals in three days. Its no crime for home team to prepare pitches according to thier strengths and winning the match in under three days. If spinners are Indian team's strength, they have prepared picth which suits to them. Don't do Aussies prepare fast and bouncy pitches as much as possible in Australia according to their strength. And wonder if they had won that match with Shane Warne in their ranks. Would they had lodged the complaint at that time too??

It is no secret that Aussies are the most unsporting,ill-mannered cricketers among all.Not just that, they are joined by their umpires and Aussy media in offending every rival who land on their shores.Even when they are visitors in other countries, they create most unpleasant situations by shooting their mouths off or flaring up their tempers if they find themselves at the wrong end of the barrel. And of course they are well known to be extremely racial in their attitude towards foreigners, especially Asians.Even as a nation they never considered themselves as part of the Asian region.Until just a few years ago they had very little cultural ties with any Asian country including Malaysia and Indonesia.Of course Australia never had any great culture to begin with -other than that of hating and decimating the true natives and owners of the continent of Australia. And then the original white settlers were exclusively criminals and convicts thrown out of the British society.Over all Aussies have always been an obnoxious lot both on and off the cricket field. They have definitely contributed enormously to the 'art' of sledging, which is a natural bye-product of their culture of racism.

Utter nonsense
by Sujay on Dec 06, 2004 03:09 PM

How would the Australians react if BCCI complained to the ICC that a particular wicket in Australia was 'too fast & bouncy'?
It is this churlish attitude that takes away from this otherwise indomitable Aussie team. Such behaviour prevents one from looking up to this team with the same awe that is reserved for Clive Lloyd's West Indies or Sir Don Bradman's Aussies
