Hansie played his last ONE Day Mathch on 31st Maarch 2000 - his 16th in that year alone, that too with in 3 months. He had won 10 of these.
Looking at Statistics I find that SA had not played even a single Match at Dubai during 1999! Kristen says that he came to know of the ENORMITY of the SCANDAl during their Tour in 1999. In 2000 SA had toured Sharjah and participared in the Coca Cola Trophy - India & Pak were the other 2 teams. SA won all its round robin games and played the final against Pakistan and lost. But Kristen was not in the XI! Yes, in 1966 SA played 2 Matches at Mumbai and had lost both - the second was a Benefit Match. Kristen score 23 in the Cup Match and 1 in the Benefit Match.
My 'message' is not to support Hansie. But book writing has to have a purpose outside of making MONEY. Holier than thou - the Dead Man, is no great attitude for Book Writing.
