He is still the master
by bagi on Aug 28, 2004 06:15 PM

Tendulkar is still the no. 1 batsman. He is still patriotic and hits marvellous centuries for the country and does take risk. He is humble enough to feel honoured as its really nothing for him.

Sachin Deserves
by Kamal Taylor on Aug 28, 2004 05:03 PM

Enough though sachin is not in great of form right now but he is the best ever cricketer world has seen, he is simply unstoppable when he is on the song. So Sachin deserves his place in Benaud's XI and he got the place.

Why he wouldnt be?
by Indian Well Wisher on Aug 28, 2004 03:07 PM  | Hide replies

Why he wouldnt be? He had the talent...but he has wasted it all to pile up hundreds and to make money. Denying to pay the duty showed his true characters. I was his fan in his earlier days when we had a young/patriotic sachin blasting away the opponents but as he grew older, he just lost his original flair, became more of a century maker than match winner. I hope he retires as soon as possible.

The very fact that he doesnt want to play down the order tells a lot abt him. He has to learn few lessosns from australian players who never get slowed when century is nearing.

You never follow the game, read some reports written by half cooked reporters and write some crap. Australia came to India twice and never won against us and sachin was very much responsible for it. In 1998 he scored around 1200 runs in that whole season in all forms of cricket smashing warne all over the ground. In 2000 though the revival came from that magical partnership of VVS and Dravid yet sachin contributed with the ball to take three crucial wickets in the second innings, also he scored a stellar 124 in the final test match and made sure gain a valuable first innings lead in another nailbitter finish. Again Australia comes there next month hoping they can stop sachin.Sachin has hugely contributed in all the world cups he has played. In 1996 he was the highest run getter taking India to semis where india crumbled once he's out. In 1999 he flew from India after burying his father to lift the team from two straight losses. In 2003 he assured the nation that the team will fight after india had a lacklusture start. India didnt lose till we reached finals and sachin was the player of the tournament. His performance against australia and worldcup prove his credibility in big games

Not only me, but also many others would disagree with this Indian Team Well Wisher who refuses to name his name being the team's well wisher. Imagine, just being the team's well wisher, which is one amongst million people's job, he was not bold enough to name his name, how much pressure sachin will be facing everyday, being the country's most premier treasure, even greater than the country's PM. Amidst all these factors till today he had done a tremondous job and it is quite ridiculous to doubt his willingness towards the team's cause even ater 15 years of his unselfishness sevice to the country. This gentle man was quoted saying that sachin is for country's cause just because sachin is not interested in coming down the order. Imagine, would India have entered the world cup's final had not he demanded & opened the innings in the world cup. The general psychology of the people is they will forget the good things faster than the bad things. Bravo Sachin, we are with you for ever & don't give importance to these unwanted comments & proceed your march towards bringing great laurels to the country & the bame of cricket.
