To play in a region where rain will always be an interuptor is foolish,BCCI should try to avoid such venues..because this will hammer the hearts of cricket loving people,at the same time the players also will get down.So please try to avoid this in the future.

Funniest Series
by Ketan on Aug 25, 2004 07:02 PM

This can be termed as the funniest series ever played in Cricket.
The team, which has not played a single game in league match is entering into the finals. and chances are more that it will also be termed the champions. Had it been Holland(for that matter UAE, Bangladesh), instead of Australis, the series would still have managed to enter them into finals.

Reserve Day
by raghu on Aug 25, 2004 06:52 PM

Why was there no Reserve day, when the games were so spaced out during the 10 days?

This was sheet bad planning for a coutnry that was wanting to promote cricket and see as much action as possible.

Looks like the organizers cared two hoots for the way the tournament was to be played, else they would have planned on a Reserve day knowing fully well that rains are a common phenomia there. Poor foresight.

ICC should not give permission for such tournaments.

Of abandoned matches
by B Raju on Aug 25, 2004 04:16 PM

It was a foolish decision by the board to agree to play at such places where rains are not new to interfere the matches. Who has benefited from matches at such places? Last year , they kept a one day match at Chennai in October which is the season of rains and the rains did come and washed out the match. Is it not a criminal wastage of money of the cricket loving public- there is no loss to our cricketers. They get paid for their inefficiency and rewarded for their once - in - a - while - performance. If the sponsorers think that they have enough money to spend on such nonsensical tournaments , it is advisable that they stop sponsoring and utilize the amount for some charity or atleast improve the salary of their employees - who are definetely more efficient than our cricketers.

Regarding the venues and the season

Icc should look forward to not continue such practice of conducting any series in such place where cricket would hurt any teams moral and also should look for a season when cricket can be played without cutting down overs as it leads to the result as some teams start slow and recover at the end and some start fast and have no great end.

ICC also look forward to umpire's decisions and conduct of team players mainly of Austarlia and Pakistan as they use abusing words to depress the opponent teams players and still no action is taken on them
