The best thing I would like to have in the wicket keeper is that he should be equavalent cabale of doing both the thing, keeping wicket as well as the batting. Some good examples can be Adam Gilchrist, Andy flower and Alec Stewart. All of them can really explode the bowlers with their batting strength.
Dravid is a very talented batsmen but I am sorry to say that he is not doing too well behind the wickets and that's why we are giving 15-20 additional runs in each and every ODI.
We need a good wicketkeeper with the good batting ability to perform at the worst time and I think the newcomer Karthik will be the ideal choice for that.
Give him chances and he will prove his worth in the team.

Best thing to happen to Indian Wicket keeping after Mongia. He is a better batsman & keeper than Parthiv. Ganguly should give Karthik opportunities to prove, like he gave Parthiv. Keep it up Karthik

I agree that he is definetly better than patel and it is time Patel is relegated to playing cricket at the District level which is really his standard.God only can help India if he plays for us! J.S.P.Ratnam
